Bama was better, but not "name the score" better...

For clarity, my point is that if our mindset and game plan had remained the same for the entire game instead of closing it down early, we could have named the score. However, because we went way overly conservative, we found ourselves in that position of only being up by 3 points late.

Ok. I don’t agree necessarily, but that’s a far more understandable argument, and I get where you’re coming from.

Lol @ “could’ve named the score” against Texas. The damn game was 24-6 because Gilbert came in for Colt and gave you a pick 6 before leading a remarkable comeback.

All those elite spread-type offenses with running QBs and great WRs Saban has shut down over the years clearly speaks to how much worse it would’ve been had McCoy stayed in the game.

So glad Watson didn’t get hurt so we wouldn’t have to listen to more examples of this kind of stupid shite logic.

Can you clarify your talking point here? Are you suggesting Colt McCoy running the ball would have been the difference in the game? 2.6Ypc Colt McCoy?

So ypc is the only metric that matters with a seasoned dual QB?

Hmmm, guess you guys kicked 1.8Ypc Cam Newton’s arse in the 2010 IB.

You guys almost lost a National Title to Garrett F'ing Gilbert... Garrett F'ing Gilbert, you know the kid who transferred to SMU and sucked there to.

We had more total yards of offense. You were 2-12 on 3rd down lol, against a team with a True Freshman reject behind center and almost no chance to win. Not to mention we had 5 turnovers and were still only down 24-21 with 3 minutes to go. Enjoy the title but quit trying to revise history.

You guys ran a fake punt after going 3 and out on your first drive... Saban totally thought y'all had that one in the bag... Trying to steal a possession in the 1st quarter.. You people are more arrogant than we are.

To be fair, I'd much rather almost lose a National Title against Garrett Gilbert than almost win one with him.

So would I but the guy said Alabama could have named the score that night lol. Greg McElroy to this day might be the worst QB to ever win a National Title in the modern era of football. It is what it is, they won, if the roles would have been reversed I wouldn't have apologized either but to say some stupid shite like Alabama could have named the score and won by however many they wanted to is stupid.

Cam Newton averaged more than 5.5 YPC and over 100 yards per game in 2010. Colt McCoy averaged 2.6 and less than 30 per game in 2009.

“Seasoned dual threat QB”

Colt McCoy wasn’t even in the same stratosphere as any of the dual threat QBs Saban’s defense has struggled with.

Yes, and I called him out for it.

McElroy was much better than most people give him credit for. I for sure think he was better than Craig Krenzel

Like Stephen Garcia or Jarrett Stidham?

I'll give you Craig Krenzel, but it's close. Senior Greg McElroy was eh. The one that won the National Title just rode the coat tails of a typical Saban team.

I missed the first 2 minutes of the 4th quarter aginst Notre Dame to bang my old lady.

Not sure I would've told everybody that. 2 minutes? Really?

Are you high right now? Serious question. Sometimes I wonder how some of you are able to breathe on your own without step by step instructions.

Greg McElroy isn’t even the worst Bama QB to win a national championship in the modern era. He finished 2009 with 2,500+ yards passing and 17 touchdowns and 4 INTs.

For comparison, Jay Barker finished the 1992 season with 1,600 yards, 7 TDs and 9 INTs.

Greg McElroy played the entire game with broken ribs.

Unlike your pansy-arse Colt McCoy who faked a noodle arm injury and begged his daddy to not let Butterteeth put him back in.

Colt was the perfect QB for Tejas as he truly epitomized the pansy-arse history of a so-called blueblood program.

Texas and Florida ran way different versions of the spread in 09.

I agree alabama fans are more arrogant than Tx fans. But bama kinda earned the arrogance. All teams have down cycles. Look at the more successful programs more successful than texas historically for proof. Alabama will have another down cycle its just part of the game. When is the question.

Notre Dame did not belong in that game. The real championship game was the SEC championship.
