What am I missing here?

McElroy's 1st year: 2009 national title
McCarron's first year: 2011 national title

Both had underwhelming spring games.

Myth, every team in the West will be better than last year on Offense. Same could be said about UF and UT. To win games in the SEC next year, you are going to have to score some point to keep up.

Lsu is taking a step back to 2012 on offense

My bad. I confused Jay Barker with Wilson and thought that too long of a timeline.

Gotcha.

Huh? LSU will not be better. IMO Auburn will not be as good either with teams being more prepared for them and the loss of Greg Robinson.

Get yourself a beer, chill out, and go watch the 2009 VT game. Then tell me how Coker/Bateman couldn't do exactly what McElroy did in that game.

Sorry but No. You do have your starting QB returning who played in a title game. I'm no coach and not trying to 2nd guess ours, but I've never understood not playing your 2nd stringer no more than a few mop up snaps with all the double digit wins we had last year.Maybe they were trying to intentionally make him look bad yesterday lol.He has talent, but not elite talent.

LSU tried to overpower teams last year with Hill and ZM, this year they will be more wide open. Auburn will be much better in the passing game, which will open up the running game more. AU may not rush for as much yardage, but they have many more weopons to stop.

Love to see it but with Mett, Jarvis and Odell gone, plus returning 4 OL, we're probably more likely to just try and run over people this year.

McElroy was awful in the spring and didn't win the starting job until late in the fall camp.

McCarron was decent during spring and fall camps, but I think most people felt Philip Sims was the more polished QB. When it came game time though, there was no doubt AJ was the man for the job.

Only way they will survive in the West is to open up the game. A&M will have to depend on a better defense to win game next year.

I'm hoping there is a progression from Wisconsin to MSU to be ready for the game at ya'lls place...and I agree.

If Coker is a disaster, Bama will still probably win 9-10 with the schedule they have. AU and LSU will beat them, but who else? Bama doesn't play either of the top 2 teams in the east and no one out of conference, so you can still pencil them in for 9 wins minimum with their defense regardless.

Don't be so sure about that even if Coker is a disaster.

Do not underestimate MSU and Ole Miss in that scenario. If MSU had a QB during last years game, it could have been interesting. UF will still be good on Defense next, and could not be any worse on Offense. An easy schedule can turn on a team, if they are unable to blow teams out.

This thread and these kinda threads the last few days are just stupid. After a spring game where you get tagged if you are a QB?

The Cornwell kid is gonna be a freak once he heals. Bateman is just a freakin' redshirt freshman!! We have a lot of talent everywhere - and they only showed about 10% of the offense according to EVERY FREAKING PLAYER THEY INTERVIEWED!!!

What they hell are you guys talking about? Have you lost your minds??
