Alabama doesn't need excuses. We win every game unless we have injuries.

I have them dropping 3 this year.

Aggie/Arkansas
Iron bowl
SECCG

Probably go play baylor in the sugar bowl, or something like that.

But their excuse will be "work ethic."

Yes they have a shitty qb room, probably the second worst behind vandy.

As far as us, myles Brennan was a good qb , not a joe burrow, but he was good. He was our 3rd string. I don’t think losing him takes us from having one of the better qb rooms in the sec and country , to the worst.

Still have Daniels ,nuss and walker Howard who was the number one qb in the country after ewers reclassified and before he was injured his senior year.
Nuss is a gunslinger who has a very high ceiling and I hope he’s here for next season and doesn’t leave if Daniels doesn’t go pro.

Hell daniels was the number 2 dual threat out of high school and had an unreal freshman year at asu. That was the only year he had any weapons like he has now.

I feel really really good about our quarterback situation as long as there aren’t transfers

Tbh , I think the sec as a whole is in good shape with their qbs. Even Finley can be good with a good o-line

I love this.

"Alabama doesn't need excuses"

Then immediately follows it up with an excuse.

UGA doesn't need excuses. We won the national championship even with injuries.

They won't need any until the Natty. Looking forward to that match up with Ohio State.

Best offense in the country (OSU)
vs.
Best Defense in the country (Bama)

Bama's defense was good but not exceptional last year despite having the best individual defensive player in the nation (Will Anderson). Alabama gave up over 20 points per game last year. I think they'll improve into a top 10 defense with the addition of Ricks and the experience they gained from a young defensive backfield last year... but I'll be shocked if they're #1. I'd lean more toward Clemson at #1. Their defense was great last year and returns the stars... vs being just good and returning the stars.

I understand what you are saying about Clemson but losing Venables will hurt them in my opinion.

It's not like the experienced guys will lose the coaching Venables gave them. His loss will impact them more 2-3 years down the road, not the following season after he left.

Defense is much more about specific plays called than offense is. As long as the defense called isn't horrendously stupid, it's much more about those players knowing in an instant how to react to what the offense does.

With Clemson in particular I think that holds true as their strength doesn't come from opportune blitzes as much as the fact their DL just beats the OL. They'll continue to do that regardless of who the DC is this year... because that's about their skill and training, not about play calling.

Besides... I don't think Golding is more than a pretty good DC for Bama. I don't think his play calling or game planning is particularly noteable. Bama's defense is much more about talent than coaching at the moment... and on defense at least, I think Clemson has the talent edge... at least in terms of proven talent. That DL will be every bit as good as UGA's DL was last year.

Why would Bama fans say bad things about one of their home fields?

Speaking of throwing teams under the bus, has Dabo gotten over that Pittsburg lost yet?

Dabo Swinney: "We are what we are right now. We’re very immature, we’re very young and we’re a very unconfident offense."

Way to take that leadership role there Dabo, after another big loss.

Unlike some years in the past we are coming into the season healthy

2. It was a rebuilding year

Saying its a rebuilding year isnt an excuse if it is. Unlike last year we are not replacing as many key parts of our offense.

This isnt our bag. This is the excuse YOU ALL use for why you lose so much to Bama

Dont play there this year chief

5. $&@# Tiger Stadium

Considering Bama has a better winning percentage in Tiger Stadium than LSU we should not lose there.

6. “Pick a player” didn’t but into the system

From all indications this is a team that is focused and has bought in'

No Excuses if we dont at least win the West this year. Appreciate your interest in the program tho
