and the only reason they blocked it was because she refused to provide proof of the medical hardship and she kept changing her story about what she wanted to do.
From the first page:

Jackson said he spoke to Alabama assistant athletic director Shane Lyons on Wednesday, and Lyons told him Simmons didn’t provide him with proper documentation of her ill brother and mother. When Jackson asked if it would change anything if he delivered that documentation, Lyons said it wouldn’t.

I'm glad that applies to Alabama and Seton Hall.
It does apply to Seton Hall, and you're missing the point. The point was to answer the guy who said ALL MBA programs are two years so why does it matter. The answer is it would matter if one went to Florida or another school that has a one year program.
In Seton Hall's specific case, she'll have to do what she did at Bama last year and enroll in classes that aren't toward getting a degree to be eligible in the Spring. Basically, it will make it more difficult on her to play on the back end. Regardless of the merits of whether you specifically think that should or does matter, it is something worth pointing out in my estimation.

It seems that Daisha's family needs her at home to help care for a sick brother and mother and financially provide for them.
How can she do that while carrying a heavy academic load in a masters program, as well as the rigors required of an athlete?

How does Alabama trying to keep her in school there help?
Also, are you really staking out the ground that Alabama opposed her waiver because it had HER best interests at heart? Not even Lyons would go that far. That's pretty bold of you to run through the "we're down a scholarship you can't leave," "you didn't tell us," "you didn't provide the right documentation," "you had a housing issue" justifications, and go straight to the we were protecting her from herself defense.
I admire your moxie sir.

What a ridiculous non-story. She graduated. She has her degree. If being with her family is so important to her, why not go home and be with her family?
Leaving the team at this point would be crippling. Okay, so it's just a game, and it shouldn't take precedence over people. But if this is true, then why make such a big deal about not playing the last year of eligibility after you've graduated?
