He has 14 days to file for the appeal on the suspension, correct? Or is it 10?
Everyone forgets to read the back of the AST-60.

No doubt.
Now, lets touch on the most interesting part of your post.

Damn, man. You trying to get us back on a pork and beans diet?

Mett could be decent but to compare him to Luck is blasphemy.

Good thing I didn't do that. He's going to be pretty good this season, though. He would have appeared much better last season if his receivers didn't drop so many balls the first half of the season.
But let's try to stay on topic in this thread... Hill should be kicked off the team.

Oh come on man. You're gonna walk in there and say, "We are going to plead guilty. We want x amount of probation and x amount in restitution. Cool with you? Wanna get in 18 this weekend?"

However, what if their use affects you? Say...maybe they are so high they don't see your kid run out into the street after a run away ball....
Appeals to emotion don't do much for me. Every substance can be abused. If someone was high enough to be rendered incapable of vehicle operation, go ahead and hit them with a DUI. Though, weed doesn't make you blind.

I think that Geno should get a second chance to be placed back on probation after he gets his next misdemeanor arrest.
Saving post for 2014.

Suspend him for the 2013 season and let him play next year if he stays out of trouble.

Id say that Mett made himself look like Drew Brees against us.

Hey now....he has gotten better.

young men (and old men) make mistakes. if he has a track record of good behavior and great effort, make him run stadium steps, use as teachable moment, let the courts handle it, and move on. it was one mistake...dumb, but he deserves the chance to make ammends.

I think Geno gets suspended at least 4 games for this. Saban has to send a message and the kid endangered his life and others on the road, on top of underage drinking.

I agree...he deserves another chance to make a stupid mistake again.

Saban should do something unique to get this young mans attention. I suggest suspending him for the three toughest games, plus the iron bowl and all post season games.

DUI's are so easy for you to get these days that we'll all be lucky if we never have to deal with being accused of one. Take NC, in the state of NC they don't even have to prove you're drunk or stoned. They have a DWI for 'driving while impaired' and all they need is 'probable cause' or suspicion. If they claim you're impaired and failed one of the field sobriety tests then you've got a DWI and are screwed EVEN if you pass a breathalyzer and a blood test! If you fail either of those the DWI amounts to driving while intoxicated instead of driving while impaired. Either way it amounts to the same thing.
IOW, in NC you can be given one for zero, zilch, nada, because those road/field sobriety tests are designed for you to fail.
We need to get smarter about DUI laws. Someone dead dog drunk and swerving is far more dangerous than someone who is otherwise driving ok but legally over the limit.

As was Hill's incident. DUI is worse than a bar fight but neither require heavy punishment from the school IMO.
