How confident are Bama fans on winning vs Oklahoma ?

As confident as I have been against any other ranked team - cautious optimism.

Are you guys confident your qb wins this one ?

Are you? We haven't relied on running the ball all season, so "stopping the run" is pretty much just assumed.

Mateer is 11th in passing in conference play, and Alabama's defense is #1 in scoring D against SEC opponents (Oklahoma is 3rd). It's possible we only score 20 and still win by 14. You guys gave up over 300 passing yards in the two games against offenses that are similar to ours.

Not to mention you guys have been terrible on the turnover front (-5) while we've been really damned good (+10).

Yep. Never could get to a #4 ranking, multiple top 25 wins, a 6-0 conference record with this run game. Couldn't happen.

It's not just the poor running game - it's the TFL drive killers. I can't remember any Bama team with as many TFLs as this one. Ty will have to play a great game to win this one. And lets face it: Jam Miller is a jelly dancer.

Oh I can - 2021 and 2022 had OL blow ups where run plays gave up 3-5 yards at least 1 time a drive.

Honestly this one doesn't give up that many TFLs - we just always seem to get between 0 - 2.5 yards every run. Teams don't shoot missed blocks or gaps very often, we just don't get enough movement and then Jam does a little tap dance and then tries to run sideways.

We're #38 nationally in TFLs allowed (4.7 a game - 1.7 of them sacks).

We were #97 in 2023. #111 in 2021.

About the only time we have TFLs is when Jam does this.

2013 Sugar Bowl OU a 16 point dog. Wins straight up

2025 14.5 point dog. Win by 3 touchdowns

OU undefeated in Tuscaloosa(Home and Home wins for Coach Stoops)

Guess the Sooners will show up anyways

I'm guessing you just started watching this year then?

TFL Allowed per game:
2025 - 4.67
2024 - 5.92
2023 - 6.29
2022 - 4.85
2021 - 6.93
2020 - 4.08 (last time we allowed fewer TFL per game than this year)

How'd you beat that vaunted Georgia D?

Have you seen our offense? You guys will win with ease. Relax.

That's what I'm hoping for. We're both going to rely on our defenses, and hopefully our passing game is just enough to get us the win. We seem to have a slight advantage there, but it also seems like your QB has been injured and is getting better now.

Their defense is way down this year compared to past years.

And they pretty much shut us down in the 2nd half. I'm not sure how much that was Alabama trying to run the clock out and how much it was the D, but we've struggled in the 2nd half of games while being up.

My perception was wrong. Thanks for the facts.

Definitely looks like they're not sacking or even pressuring the QB like they have in previous years...

Bama already runs a lot of screens so I don’t know how many more they can add to use it as an extension to the run game.

The one thing they are gonna have to do if they want to actually compete to win a title is use Ty in the run game. I don’t like the idea at all because if he get hurt Bama is done anyway. Using Ty though can help that struggling run game enough to make it more of a threat. I hate it but it’s just where they are at right now.

Same for me. I don't consider myself a fan of OU or really keep up with them but they are a storied program in the same mold as Alabama and that alone entitles them to respect. I will say that I ALWAYS pull for them in the Red River Shootout.

You are right and I am an absolute doofus who looked at the wrong column on the stat sheet. Edited my post accordingly.

Deboer's Bama tend to play to the level of their competition, I think Bama will be dialed in for this game much like UGA. OU's defensive front will give us some trouble, think Bama needs quick release routes instead of trying to hit the homerun, Simpson's game is better being a mid-range passer, he's very accurate. Alabama run game is ok when running to the edge, the Offensive line just cannot get any push up the middle, why Bama's running game up the middle is awful, Hill I think could give us a spark in this area. Bama should win but this isn't going to be an easy game, OU is a good football team.

I don’t know man. Of your coach has the right QB, his system seems to flourish.
