Bama is light years ahead of the Barns D.
Son, just give it up.

Auburn's D-Line is outstanding and they remind me of Bama's 2015 D-Line in how they can rotate out 8 guys and not miss a beat. Their 2nd string is just as good as their starters. I would give Bama the edge at LB and the secondary is a push.

Alabama's defense has a weakness - giving up big plays in the secondary. But to exploit it, you have to have a QB who can get it to them, either by great blocking against a sick defensive line (good luck with that), or with a quick release and great reads and check downs - essentially Peyton Manning. Alabama's pass rush - possibly the best we've ever seen - masks the fact that the secondary is good but not great.
And all of that is before we talk about the other side of the ball, where you need an LSU style defense - great speed on the edges and enough people in the middle to keep from getting pounded. There aren't many defenses out there like that, and while auburn has a very good defense, it's a different style from LSU's.

I like our defense, but Alabama defense is better.
Mon and Carl would certainly be in rotation for them. Carlton would play.
Bama has so many quality players. TJ Neal would be on their scout team, not 5th guy in 2 LB rotation.
We have made great strides on defense, but we do not have as many quality LBs as they do.
Both defensive lines are high quality and deep.

conveniently forget that Bama plays their second and third string in half their games in the second half because it's a blowout.
And that's why people tune out to the games. Nobody wants to see Bama blowing teams out every week by 30. At least LSU manned up and gave you assholes a game. Hope to see Auburn do the same. Maybe take it the next step and beat you useless bast@rds.

How many players on Auburn's D will play in the NFL?
How many players on Alabama's D will play in the NFL?
There's your answer.
While I certainly don't think Auburn's defense is better than Bama's the above is not true either.
The 2004 AU defense didn't have a ton of NFL talent but was one of the best defenses this conference has seen since expansion.

Remind me when Alabama's defense gives up close to 350 yards to putrid Vanderbilt offense at home and allows them to convert 43% of their 3rd downs.

Modern history shows that if Auburn fields a decent team, Bama doesn't beat them.
Auburn needs to field more decent teams. Sample size is too small.

With both starting linebackers out and starting defensive line playing less than 50% of the snaps?
