I remember when that briefly happened. Aggy around the state was very upset that the eggheads were trying to make their beloved school into “t.u.” by raising its academic profile.
That didn’t last long and the ratings plummeted again (see: 77 percent admission rate and not enough professors. But y’all became the biggest diploma mill in Texas, herp derp).
Another memory is running off the school president who came up with “Vision 2020.” That would’ve ended corps of cadets legacy admissions, wasn’t that one of the beefs?

Most of the A&M posters here were accepted into both and chose A&M.
All t.u. required to accept me was filling out a one page application. A&M made me fill out an entire packet and write an essay explaining why I wanted to go to A&M.
A&M actually made me work for it. t.u. rubber-stamped it. Ultimately it came down to the fact that I didn't want to live in downtown Austin for 4 years.
I can’t stand Texas, but this is like a UGA fan claiming that it’s harder to get accepted into UGA than Georgia Tech.
Nobody’s buying it except other delusional ATM fans.
I hate to admit this, but aside from Vandy, Florida is the best educational institution in the SEC.

That's not what they were upset about. They were upset about the epic disaster pet project of Ray Bowen's "Vision 2020".
The triumvirate of stupid (Ray Bowen, Malon Sutherland, Wally Groff) saw the increase in profile under U.S. News as a mandate to implement their shitty pet projects (such as Corps Block Seating, which the Commandant was vehemently opposed to until he was replaced).

I graduated 20 years ago. At the time I was applying it was.

Right, not many SEC people know that aggy’s 2000-member corps of cadets holds the rest of the school hostage.

That's because it is a false statement.
John Sharp and Rick Perry hold the school hostage.
If you are talking about Yell Leader elections, the biggest voting block by far is sororities.

Wasn't Rick Perry a milkman?

True story.
We’d bloc vote as pledge classes.
Nine times outta 10, someone’s bf was one of the “Five for Five” Corps guys running for Yell.
So we’d all vote for the CTs, en masse.

Well, that and only about 25% of the student body bothers to vote.

No, we didn’t break Texas.
Alabama made that man question his entire coaching career and philosophy. Then he tried to change everything, failed, tried to change it back, failed, got fired.
Also, Texas shouldn't have even been in the game to start with, but Big12 officials gave them a win over Nebraska to make it happen.

Conference rules allow official reviews for clock errors.
The ball hit the ground with a second left.
The clock is adjusted multiple times during a game from the replay booth.
End of story.

Bama fans claiming they’d beat LSU if they had healthy Tua sound like Texas fans with colt McCoy.
Either way, LSU is currently father to both of them.

Did Saban ever explain the 4th and 23 fake punt?
If he did, I hope he thanked the Texas DB who caught it and made it less bad.

Wasn't the ball placed at the yard where it landed instead of the point it went out of bounds though, making it a shorter field goal?
