Still doesn't mean it wasn't bullshite. A program suffers because Antonio Langham signs a paper napkin with an agent in wee hours of the morning in New Orleans.

Cap,you seem like a pretty good feller. I strongly advise you to move to another topic. Mr ixv/Adam is a generally intelligent poster, but he will worry the wings off of a fly. Very pedantic. Unless you are willing to spend the rest of the afternoon on this,I'd let it pass.

IMO, the LSU Florida game is bigger than the LSU Alabama game.

I doubt Fla considers us a rival either. They have Tenn and FSU.

The problem is, LSU doesnt have a "real" rival.

They have tried to make some but its not the same.

how about this RMFT...

RIGHT NOW (11/20/2009), Auburn has the better overall athletic department and better academic ranking (according to the sources sited earlier).

This is dumb. First off, this is a thread about rivalries. You mentioned Auburn's success in women's golf. How many women's golf tournaments have you attended this year? None? If you knew anything about sports other than football, you'd know that football rivals are not always the same as rivals in other sports.

For instance, our gymnastics team is rivals with Georgia because they are the two best teams in the conference. They do not consider Auburn a rival because they have beaten Auburn in 97 straight meets. (How's that for a streak?)

LSU simply needs a rival, they have outgrown their traditional rival (Tulane), and they don't want to accept their other rival (Ole Miss). Alabama simply doesn't consider LSU as it's rivalry game. What about AR-Kansas, why can't LSU fans get on board with this?

We win again this year and a rivalry may be in the cards. I thought we'd knocked them out of the BCSCG a couple of years ago and that would start it. But, they backed in so it was forgotten.

So much was made of the LSU/Auburn rivalry and how the winner usually went to the SECCG. What no one seemed to notice was that the LSU/Arkansas game produced a SECCG representative even more often. I fricking hate Arkansas, and if more LSU fans would quit worrying about Alabama all the time, we'd realize that we have perhaps the most underrated rivalry in the country.
