Dear fellow members of the SEC,
Last Saturday the television announcers stated that Mississippi State now considers Alabama to be its major rival. In recent years similar statements have been made regarding Ole Miss, Arkansas and LSU as well.
We would like to thank you for your interest, but regret to inform you that we are not accepting any new major rivals at this time. As you are aware, we have our annual clash with Tennessee followed by the Iron Bowl against our agricultural step-sister across the state... games that require significant focus and concentration from our loyal fan base. With SEC Championship and National Title hopes also in our future, certainly you can understand how this leaves very little time for new projects.

Thank you again for your interest in our program. While we appreciate your desire to remain (or in some cases become) relevant, we are simply unable to accomodate you at this time.

Sincerely,
The University of Alabama

you must mean the university with better academics, a better athletic department, and winners of 7 of the last 9?

Parts, why do you think all these SEC teams are scheduling bye weeks before playing Bama. All of them consider themselves to be our rival and wants to beat us.

Four damn SEC west teams except Arkansas and Ole Miss have scheduled an off week before playing Bama next year. Tennessee and South Carolina from the SEC east too.

Damn our rivals sure want to beat us. And as a sign of respect, they feel it takes two weeks to get ready for us.

If you've played more than 80 times, and you play every year, home and home, you're major rivals.

Why has bama's bye week been the week b4 LSU the past 2 years as well as next year?

In what, Swimming? None of your programs made the postseason last year. Your basketball had its best season in nearly a decade, and it only made it to the NIT. When's the last time your baseball program was successful?
