Tony Mitchell, maybe so. I wouldn't argue that. We have to have Greene though in the long run.

They can still be a scrappy team, but without Greene they have absolutely no inside presence on defense. Jacobs, a true fresh. is OK offensively although very soft. He is lacking on D and on the boards.

Grant will need to get more creative on D. Need to mask the deficiencies better than he did against LSU. Next year will be more of the same with limited options on the inside.

I don't know how you can be more creative on defense in the half court. If you're small, you're small and if the other team wants to post you up they're going to. Sure you could double-down or play a zone, but in a zone it becomes even more difficult to rebound. Not to mention if you play zone against a team like Florida or double off of shooters they could light you up from 3.

There is more ways than I care to list, to change things up on defense depending on situation.

Jacobs is terrible post defender, and now he is playing the best post player of opposing team. Protecting his butt should be priority one. If adjustments are made in second half against LSU, Bama has a much better chance at winning.

We did turn a 16 point halftime deficit to 3 in the second half, you can only do so much. What would you have suggested?

Over under for Cooper points

I'll set it at 12

Cut the deficit because of offensive production, some of which was the result of full-court pressure. That was a good adjustment made at half.

Johnson also helped a lot, he is the worst in-game coach in the SEC.

LSU still scored more in the second half than in the first. Hamilton was getting uncontested entry passes and basically uncontested shot in the paint the entire game. No way should you let a post player shoot 9-12 with no attempt at changing the defense of him.

You only have 2 more away games. According to KenPom, Bama's expected to win the rest of their games, including the one tonight. It doesn't take the suspensions into consideration but who knows if Bama plays as well (addition by subtraction)?

KenPom is based exclusively on mathmatical past performance, so its numbers are based on JG and TM playing. Bama unlikely to beat ARKY at Bud Walton or OM at the Tad Pad. Can't beat MSU w/o JG.

Bama's season at a crossroads. Up to CAG as to whether our bigs get another chance. I sure hope so, this team talented enough to get to sweet sixteen if they play with the right attitude.

His ankle is bad. He looks soft on TV, letting kids go straight to the rim. People at the game have said he's limping pretty bad.

Donovan should rest him IMO.

Maybe after Bama. You don't have much to worry about today.

If we had Jamychal I would be very confident, due to Florida's struggles on the road, lack of an inside game (especially with Young having a nagging injury, Yeguette being out, etc.).

As it is I think we can win but it certainly makes things more difficult.

It'll probably be one of those game where you just have a sick feeling in your stomach the whole time.
