Yes, I agree with you and you just made me angry about that call again reminding me of it. That LSU loss was the most painful loss for me as an AU fan since the 2005 Duval 5 missed fg's against LSU. Just painful to lose to LSU in TS the way we have the last two times. And I know the same applies to the way you guys have lost to us in JH. I look forward to and dread the LSU game every year. Sometimes I just want it off the schedule for a year or two.

u rather play us early or later in the season?

Doesn't matter. I would prefer to have an off week or cupcake after the game though. I am not happy that we play Tenn the next week this year.
I would say late so that we would not have to worry about injuries that linger and being beat up after the game, but that is impossible for us since we will always have UGA and Bama to end the year. So if we have a choice, I think we will always prefer to play LSU earlier in the year. I am a little concerned about MSU the week before. MSU has always been the perfect warmup, but not as much now as they are improving and physical. Also, even though UGA is very good, I would much rather have UGA before Bama. It just seems our games against UGA are not as physical as the ones against LSU for whatever reason.

By the way, I am glad the SEC is forcing AU and Bama to play the week before the SEC championship game now. I have always felt Bama had something of an advantage as they usually play MSU or used to play Southern Miss or La Tech before AU while AU always has UGA. In the 80's, AU played UF, UGA, Bama to end the year while Bama would play Southern Miss, MSU, AU. And AU had to play at Bama (ie Legion Field) every year.
Pretty happy now that we are home and home and both have a week off before the ib so we are on even footing.

Ole Miss/Bama should have gone to OT if it werent for the refs.

The refs made a 100% accurate call on the Rebel receiver going out of bounds and touching the ball first after coming back into the field of play. There is a photo that clearly shows the hand of the Ole Miss receiver making the initial contact. The refs reviewed the play and did indeed make the correct decision, Bama took over on downs to run out the clock, game over.
It was the correct call.

Yeah that was dumb. He did that on every kickoff during the game. Tubby was scared to death of Holliday...

I just realized Bama could have lost 4 other games. Their season was really on the edge of a player melt down disaster. They are lucky they finished with 7 wins.

They could just as easily won those games with a play made here and there. The worst performances of the year were against Florida State and ULM, and for whatever reason I doubt they would have won either of those games. The Georgia, LSU, Miss. State, and Auburn games came down to basically one play.
The difference between being a mediocre team and a champion is often who makes that handful of crucial plays. Its one of the oldest maxims in football, every game comes down to a few critical plays, and you never know when they are going to happen, so you have to play every down as if its the game winner.

I think it was brilliant. Phil Fulmer made a wise decision too, not to keep going with Arian Foster.
Yeah, that was what I didn't understand about our game with you guys last year. "Okay, the run is working great. Let's stop now."
Update: Other blowout = UGA/Auburn

I think if yall had stuck with the running game, it would have been a win for yall. We had no depth on the D-line and he was already getting big chunks of yardage. Why more teams didn't take advantage of the run against us last year still baffles me, but I'm glad they didn't.

granted, but my point is that refs keep most underdogs in sec games. gone are the days that Bama and Flor get all the calls. this may be a topic for another thread but I usually take the underdogs and the over in SEC games.

The worst call made in the Arkansas game was made by Houston Nutt when he made the call to pull Jones and McFadden out of the game when he needed a yard.
That was stupidity.
agreed i could not believe h. nutt when he did that. dmac was running all over bama that night.

Gumptardedness has dumbed down the coaches against us, that's why we'll go undefeated next year.
