Top tier Qb's don't get drafted in the fifth round...are you insane? Wasn't he the 7th or 8th QB picked. Guess you know so much more than the pro scouts..He had a great coach, great line, great WRs, great RBs, and an outstanding defense..pretty easy to look decent when you have more talent around you than everyone you play.. He is no where near Burrow, Tebow, Newton, Manziel, etc....not even close. They all have Heisman's..weird that he doesn't or even finished in tbe top 3..

How can you have Manning in front of Tebow who has a Heisman and 2 natty's? What a joke.

The Georgia roster that Stafford had to work with was night, and day, different than the roster Bennett worked with.

the offensive system in which he played was lightyears different, too. The modern QB numbers are almost always going to look better, yet people always want to bring up stats across eras and compare them.

For instance

Player A
12 games, 287/477 (60.2%), 3819 yards, 36 TDs, 11 INT, 8.0 YPA, 318 ypg 147.7 RAT

Player B
13 games, 337/525 (64.2%), 4052 yards, 29 TDs, 12 INT, 7.8 YPA, 312 ypg, 142.7 RAT

Player A is universally viewed as one of the best QBs of all-time. Player B has never made an all-conference team.

Jake Fromm? Over Newton, Manziel, and Daniels?

Suddenly not so worried about AI.

I don’t know if Fromm is even top 20 or 30. Just gonna start listing guys off the top of my head I’d take over him who aren’t on the list.

Cam, JFF, Jayden, McCarron, Tua, Hurts, Young, Mallett, Eli, Corral, Dart, Nix, Mettenberger, Russell, Nuss, Hooker.

Fromm is in Danny Etling territory.

Against A&M in 2013, Bama couldn't just play ball control and hope that the defense could somehow stop Manziel. They needed production from the QB. AJ threw for 334 yds, 4 TDs and a completion percentage of 76.9%. He was no Tua or Bryce Young but he was good regardless of the talent around him.

For every huge game he had like this he had many games where any average game manager could’ve won.

I don’t subscribe to this at all. He never showed that — he never single handedly took over games and saved Bama. He always had players playing out of their mind around him.

They left Barker's natty off.

So in your mind, this equals "average at best"? This is the second time that you've tried to say that I think I know more than pro scouts, coaches, blah, blah....No, I don't.

However, you obviously know more about it than Nick Saban. Clearly, the GOAT should have asked for your guidance before putting such a dud at QB.
He might have won 3 straight instead 2.

against ranked teams in his career

2011
Arkansas - 15/20 200 yards 2 TDs
LSU - 16/28 199 yards 0 TDs 1 INT
LSU - 23/34 234 yards 0 TDs

2012
Michigan 11/21 199 yards 2 TDs
LSU 14/27 165 yards 1 TD
Texas A&M 21/34 309 yards 1 TD 2 INT (loss)
UGA 13/21 162 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Notre Dame 20/38 264 yards 4 TDs

2013
Texas A&M 20/29 334 yards 4 TDs
LSU 14/20 179 yards 3 TDs
Auburn 17/29 277 yards 3 TDs (loss)
Oklahoma 19/30 387 yards 2 TDs 2 INTs (loss)

I see really one game in the three years he started that he put his team on his back and won a game, and that was the one game you listed in your post.

What he did have was the #1 overall defense in all of college football in 2011 and 2012 (his national title seasons) and #4 in 2013. Makes a QB's job a lot easier when the other team can't score against you. Alabama allowed 20+ points just once in 2011 (against an FCS team), twice in 2012 (agaisnst A&M-loss and against UGA in the SECCG). and three times in 2013 (he lost two of those and beat A&M)

It also helps to have an all-world running game that could run it down everyone's throat.

He was a solid QB on teams that were full of elite players.

Archie Manning was a below average NFL QB. There, I said it. Because it is true.

Ok good

I absolutely can’t stand UGA fans. They’re easily the most obnoxious fanbase in the SEC, hands down.

Bennett had some tools around him, but when UGA needed him he stepped up. Down double digits in the 4th Q against OSU in the Natl semis, he threw for 190 yards in the Q to lead GA to the win.

Well…. My opinion obviously was shared by all the NFL GM’s, Player Personnel Directors, and Coaches in the entire League.

The Detroit Lions with the 1st Overall Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft select Georgia QB Matthew Stafford.

The Los Angeles Rams with the 128th pick in the 4th Round in the 2023 NFL Draft select Georgia QB Stetson Bennett.

Yeah…. Stetson was sooooo much better than Stafford in colllege. GTFO! lol

How can a person be as dumb as this post indicates? Its college only. The NFL draft is irrelevant.

Ummm where did I say all that? Saban was known for his great defenses and running game. He won multiple SEC titles and national titles with a game manager at QB(before Bryce Young). He didn't need a stud..needed a player who was smart and accuarate on short and medium passes..which he got..but in no way is AJ an all timer..not even close.
