Idk, but those schools had to displace others when they got their great coaches, and A&Mhas more resources than those.

If I turn your comment on you, I’d ask you how will A&M win a NC with Jimbo if he can’t compete with that set of schools?

Well, the reply was directed to the point that he should be fired if he doesn't pull top 5 classes. No one said he couldn't compete, but you said not rating top 5 was grounds for firing.

247 shows A&Ms classes right now:
2016 (pre-Jimbo) 18
2017 (pre-Jimbo) 13
2018 (transition class) 17
2019 4
2020 6
2021 (not final) 7

I'd say he seems to be doing just fine.

7th nationally. 4th in the SEC. With a shot to jump LSU to get to 4th nationally and 3rd in the SEC. The SEC is ridiculous.

Yep. 4 of the top 7 classes in the country are SEC, and 3 are SECW. Just stacked.

I was definitely being a little facetious about it, but those rankings should be expected with a down Texas and all of the supposed advantages they have. Now, will the results match up and will Jimbo cash in on these classes?

Texas doesn't really recruit anything but skill players. They didn't get a single one of the top linemen in the state this year. Not one

What do you consider cashing in? Jimbo has A&M at #5 and knocking on the door of the playoffs after finishing 2nd in the SECW for the second time in the 3 years since his hiring.

Will he be able to beat Saban consistenly to take over as top dog in the West? I don't know. Nobody at any SEC program has been able to pull that off yet. But at this point A&M is in as good a position to do so as anyone.

He's got to beat Saban first before anyone can talk about him doing it consistently. I like your thinking, though.

Oh. So not getting the talent needed to win the conference despite being in an absolute goldmine geographically. Shame.

You're an LSU fan saying that a team can't win the conference recruiting 3rd or 4th best in the SEC? Sounds like you lack a little self-awareness.

When did you recruit third best in the sec? Lsu also had upper classmen from the number 2 class in the nation combined with the best college qb of all time. Combine that with national top 5 classes every other year. That’s what it takes to have a shot to dethrone bama. In all honesty I’m not saying this to knock jimbo. Just more of a depressing indictment on college football in its current form.

2019 class. 3rd nationally behind Georgia and bama. Once you remove the 5* kid that counted towards Texas’ class but never set foot on campus.

They can’t stand that we are now the second best team in the SEC With just two top 10 classes and will be the best in two years.
