It was 3 paragraphs, not exactly a novel. Many of my posts run long because I am responding to multiple points made by others in one post and I use a lot of facts. Many of my posts are also short.

It wasn't your worst offense, to be sure. And like I said, your posts are good. I only note their length.
But carry on as you must.

It's $8 Billion on the way to doubling again in the next few years because of the price of oil and rare minerals that is all over the PUF land.
I am aware of the PUF's assets. However the distribution to the AUF (the money that is actually spent) is only 5.5% this year (with exceptional royalties coming in), which amounts to ~650 million dollars (according to UTIMCO).
The A&M system get's 1/3 of that (~217 million), which we share (although not equally) with Prairie View, Tarleton, the HSC and the various state agencies under TAMU System control That nets A&M-College Station 91 million (according to A&M's approved FY2013 budget) and only makes up 7% of the 1.32 billion dollar operating budget
So the pot gets smaller and smaller. We as Texans need to wake up and realize the PUF is not the long term solution to budget woes at A&M or UT Austin.
ETA: To bring this post more in line with the spirit of the SECRant I will add: New Kyle Field sttaaaaccckked, SEC fuuuuccckkeed.

but it is going to look like a huge mistake if you do not fill the place.
Meh, we need nice boxes more than anything to take in that new oil money. As long as those are full or near full we are good.

The sweets are were it is at. I believe Alabama and Arkansas currently have the most in the SEC and nationally.

Read your own article. Perry is proposing that the Texas system allow the branches of the UT System in South Texas access to the PUF. Tech, Texas State, UH, etc. can cry all they want but politically they have have about as much chance of that happening as Texas enacting strict gun control laws.
The 1/3 and 2/3rd split happened a a long time ago when A&M was very small. Actually only a few of the A&M branches get PUF access whereas almost all the Texas branches do.

Screenshots from video being shown to BOR. Very similar to what we've seen. Notable difference is that both the east and west side will have canopies. I think only the west had it in previous renderings.
Image quality sucks because they're screen shots from a video.

It also appears they've done away with the new garage that was directly adjacent to the stadium.

Those upper decks look familiar.

He added that they "have a funding plan in place that will never place university … in jeopardy."

While I didn't like the garage I hope they have some remedy in mind for the parking issues that will come about. Parking on the streets in Southside will be insane with the increased capacity and tailgaters that will come from this

A big chunk of land in West Texas was granted to the University of Texas system back in 1876 as part of the Texas Constitution. A&M being a branch of this system was also part of the constitution of that time but that has obviously since changed.
Fast forward to 1923 where oil was found on the land. Tons of money was being made from the oil on this land, but there wasn't much clear instruction as to what could be done with the funds. In 1931, the state legislature directed that 2/3 of the fund would go to UT Austin and 1/3 to A&M. Back then UT and A&M were the only notable colleges in Texas and like the previous poster pointed out, was only a fraction of the size of UT at the time so the deal seemed fair at the time.
Now the state had a lot more universities to fund, but A&M and UT have done a good job to make sure that what the legislature has ruled back in the day still holds true so that no other university systems can tap in.
