Bad thing is that Jumbo might be cutting off his nose at FSU despite his face. As an A&M graduate, I hope for his sake he wants this job because it's the one he's going to need to jump on.

The fact that FSU recruits are bailing (3 and climbing) will make FSU say "go dude"...take that job now!

FSU insiders say it might be today. A&M insiders still say Sunday, that Jimbo wants to coach on Saturday.

word in our circles is Jimbo's waiting to see if Gus goes to Arkansas or not

If given the choice of the 2, Jimbo would absolutely take AU. Had AU lost to Bama, Gus may well be the Arky coach right now and Jimbo working on a deal at AU.

Yesterday evening I was told not to be surprised if Jimbo ends up not coaching the game on Saturday. Now if he's got an eye on Gus' situation, he'd likely coach just so he's not committed anywhere until Saturday night.

Either way, Jimbo at FSU in 2018 ain't happening. Very likely at A&M with remote chance at AU in Gus goes to Arky (which only happens with an AU loss, obviously).

Contract will be approved today at 2:30 (Central).

The rest is up to FSU and Jimbo. He wants to coach Saturday's game to keep the bowl game streak going.

Will FSU allow it? Up to them. If they don't let him coach (fire him), FSU loses a ton of money.

Not really. For him I would imagine it would be easier just to leave. He wants to do everything he can to win this last game for his Seniors and the rest of his team, he is a guy that cares a great deal about his players. If he left today and they lost Saturday he would feel terrible.

Jimbo didn't create this timetable it's being forced on him. He has been consistent that he wasn't going to talk about coaching jobs during the season but the media and FSU fans are trying to force him to do so.

Of course since last night you had the dude disrupting his call in show and now apparently people are texting his son so he may have to leave. It could end up as an ugly scene if he is on the sidelines coaching on Saturday.

How do you figure, it’s actually pretty selfless. He’s going to get screamed at called ugly names and for what? Because he doesn’t want to leave his kids that he coached up

Here's the latest from the FSU side:
Thursday, Nov. 30 @ 9:30 a.m.

Not a whole lot has changed since last night in terms of Jimbo Fisher's status. At this point it's patiently obvious that he's gone for Texas A&M. It's now past the point of no return. The final straw was losing three significant recruits on Wednesday. The only question is how does FSU handle this situation going forward?

The overwhelming, if not unanimous, sentiment in the Moore Athletic Center is that he should not coach Saturday. There is concern that the environment in Doak Campbell could be toxic with Fisher on the sideline. Considering how a fan acted during a censored and staged call-in show on Wednesday night, the fear is things could get really ugly in the stands on Saturday.

The hope among administrators is that this situation gets wrapped up this afternoon or tonight. Florida State can't fire Fisher but needs to find a way to expedite his departure and make the transition as painless as possible for all parties. I'm not sure how that might be implemented but we will hopefully have more later on how this might be done.

The most interesting thing I've been hearing over the last 24 hours is how long the courtship between Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M may have been going on. As you know, we reported back in October that that Fisher was going to be the Aggies' primary candidate should Sumlin get fired. However, I've been hearing more that this process may have begun even before that, probably back in September shortly after Labor Day weekend (after UCLA upset A&M).

What I don't know is what this early contact consisted of. It may have just been some informal feelers from A&M to Fisher's agent. However, it could have also been active negotiations or it's possible there was even a tacit agreement or some type of hand-shake deal. The latter would certainly explain how poorly this season played out -- if Fisher had one foot out the door for months.

good excuse for the senior

what about the other guys losing future teammates by the minute

what about FSU losing time to search (not sure what he has told them)

Very curious how this plays out - LSU is a clown show or he can't make a decision

Aggies are going to show us what it is

PS great hire - I am happy for Ags

Aggies waiting to see if FSU beats ULM.

FSU is only a four touchdown favorite. So there's a chance.

Interesting theory.

That theory being... Jimbo's a great coach but his playing footsie with A&M got FSU a 6 loss season. Never mind this is hardly Jimbo's first hot pursuit by another program.

I definitely understand why FSU just wants to hurry up and get this resolved ASAP and definitely would rather Jimbo just leave if the choice is between firing him (much more expensive) or letting him go. The pool of available coaches they can replace Jimbo with shrinks with each passing day not to mention the far more important issue of the recruiting window. Jimbo needs to shite or get off the pot.

If FSU has not had a short list of prospective coaches their idiots.

If FSU has not been communicating with them behind the scenes they're bigger.
idiots.

The FSU job is a plum. They should have their pick.

Or maybe FSU not such a plum if they are in fact falling behind in the facilities race with limited options for building. Clemson just opened a ridiculous football facility. Florida will be breaking ground soon on a crazy new football only facility. Miami is building a huge new indoor practice facility.

Meanwhile FSU has "plans".
