But you have to realize how dumb you look to shite talk after a poor defensive performance like that, especially in the SEC.

Who the hell is bragging about our defensive performance today? We were missing 6 defensive starters. Which, by the way, was a far more legitimate concern than Johnny talking smack during the game. I'm surprised the Rant isn't talking shite about that - just goes to show how gullible some posters are in getting their talking points from ESPN.

I hate JFF as much as the next non-Aggie but he didn't play in the first half and although he doesn't play defense, when he came in it had an immediate impact on the game, so as much fun as it is to laugh about Rice putting up all those yards, how would LSU have done with Mett missing the first half or God forbid Blake Sims had played the first half or Tahj Boyd had not played the first half?

They show up the night before a game to have these people teach them how to yell:

Calling them strange is being generous.

It's a SWC thing. We loved to talk shite in the SWC, almost as much as we loved to kick it.

Jefferson Davis accepted the position to be Texas A&M's first University President. His family asked him to retire and spend time with the family.
........

Yell leaders are meh. I feel like it'd be best to have cheerleaders and yell leaders and keep them seperate. Today was the first time the A&M dance team has been on kyle field however. Progress!

Interesting. I knew he turned down A&M's invitation but I didn't know any of the details surrounding his decision to do so.

Honest assessment:
Our defensive performance was atrocious, especially our run D (our pass D got better as the game went on. Early on, our secondary had no idea WTF was going on). In any case, 509 yards is not getting it done. That said, a few reasons why the sky isn't falling (yet):

-5 or 6 starters from last year's defense graduated
-On top of that, 6 starters from this defense were suspended. That's a ton of turnover. 3 of the violations (rumor is weed) were discovered at the last minute, which meant the coaches suspended the players and then had to throw a gameplan together for the new guys at the last minute.
-Rice is not a talented team, but what talent they do have is on the offensive side of the ball. Their RB is not particularly fast, but he's big (~230lbs), strong, and has a couple of good juke moves.
-In addition, they are well coached and have a ton of experience on the offensive side of the ball. Everyone is upper classmen and their starting OL is the same as last year's.

Again, it was an awful performance, but we can and will get better. That's true of our offense too, which put up half a hundred no problem.

As big of a D bag as JFF is, it was pretty cool to hear the crowd reaction when he came in, IMO

Texans are the only people who can get slaughtered in a church and then make it the state's most loved monument.

A&M's offense will kill us this year but I can't see them winning the SEC West.
