A&M definitely shouldn’t have a number one class right now if it was based on merit.

You think CFB recruiting is based on MERIT!?!?!?

I actually kind of enjoy some of your posts. You are one of the few LoserSU fans on this site that seem to have some intelligence. BUT this is the dumbest thing you have ever said.

Reality- If what A&M did was legal, we'll all copy it, and things will go back to normal.

I agree to an extent. The premier SEC programs will navigate NIL the way they have and even things out, but I doubt with their resources they're going away any time soon.

Honestly, this is what I'd be most worried about if I was an Aggie. I'm not sure Fisher can consistently be elite, he hasn't really shown he can be.

If you choose to believe that the only reason A&M can be successful is because of NIL that's fine but it's naive and simplistic. Of course there are no guarantees of the future. College football always goes in cycles and it's always a shock how quickly things can shift for good or bad.

Still, the new era favors the schools with money and resources more than ever and A&M is one of those schools in the upper crust when it comes to money and resources. Resource wise our results we have produced recently. Odds are stacked in our favor though that it will change.

Personally I think the last thing that will really set off the new era of CFB is going to be when Saban retires and I think that is going to happen a lot sooner than most. Sure people have been saying that for a while but he's over 70 now and has every record that matters, even the GOAT can't go on forever.

They have a bunch of top notch, raw talent. They used the NIL well. Now the challenge is to forge that talent into a winning team. Not nearly as easy as many believe it will be.

Yup, as if it wasn’t already, roster management just become an immensely important factor in CFB.

NIL and the current transfer rules have essentially brought free agency to the game.

Correct. Unlike salary capped NFL teams, these players now have the flexibility to move around as they see fit. And that is going to bring headaches that noone has considered.

I’ve followed this class for start to finish. A couple of our moderators were stating that this could be a number 1 class was early as mid October, so it came to no suprisenwith those in the know.

You will see many A&M fans go to trolling as it’s just not an argument that we will win especially on this board. Everyone has preconceived notions of Texas A&M and that’s fine, but probably many looked up on signing day and screamed foul.
Best just wait tilll next year. Our class will be smaller.

Not to be an arse, but what's naive and simplistic is thinking this single class is a changing of the guard. There is nothing in A&M's history that suggests they'll become an elite program for an extended period of time.

But you're right on Saban. His reign of terror needs to end.

Absolutely.
And during years when a fan’s team benefits from NIL, they’ll say it’s the best system.
Conversely, in the years when same team isn’t as successful (all teams will experience ‘em), we’ll hear how unethical the milieu is.

Meh. They can sign all they want. Their coward coach and delusional fanbase were made for each other.

If it were just one class, you would have a point, but that's not the case.

2019 - #4
2020 - #6
2021 - #8

This tells me you have not been paying attention.

The last time A&M recruited at this level was the late 80s early 90s. Go look at that time frame.

Recruiting = wins. Everyone knows that and that’s why they’re pissed.

My honest (historical) thought on the current class? It reminds me of frustration that Lincoln felt towards McClellan due to his inaction early in the war. As cited;

Once, Lincoln was so frustrated at McClellan's failure to act that he sent the general a telegram that read, "If General McClellan does not want to use the Army, I would like to borrow it for a time, provided I could see how it could be made to do something."

It is a good looking class of talent. Can it come together as a team and win games? That is the question.

I'm sorry, but there's no empirical evidence that A&M can or will be an elite program. So they either sold a vision to a recruiting class that as of this post is considered the greatest recruiting class of all time, or they sold them them something else. Honest to god, you shouldn't care either way.

No it doesn't. If you want to consistently win you have to recruit, develop and coach.

They are just fine ingredients until you blend them together into a sumptuous meal.

Just for reference here:

2010 16
2011 34
2012 16
2013 9
2014 5
2015 11
2016 18
2017 13
2018 17
2019 4
2020 6
2021 8
2022 1

The last 4 years represent the first time in well over a decade (probably 2) where we have had top 10 classes stacked on top of each other. THAT is significant.

If anybody thinks this year is a one-off, they have not been paying attention.
