I don't think it's necessarily jealousy. (although I do think that could be a larger component than I'm acknowledging) 'Bama has had gazillion number one classes and no one bats an eye. Georgia, even with their lack of big time national success, has had top classes and people shrugged. Clemson snagging elite classes felt weird, but they ended up winning enough to were it felt normal. But A&M, I don't know, they just don't FEEL like they should have the number one class, even with all the ingredients, winning aside, you'd possibly want to have the number one class. Like, I dunno, it just doesn't feel right, like if Oregon had the number one class or something. If Oregon had the number one recruiting class, you'd see how it's possible, it would just feel weird.

Anyway, tl;dr version: People are confused and jealous because A&M is a program that "shouldn't" have the number one recruiting class.

I'll admit that I was a little jealous of your class. Than I remembered that we had "the greatest recruiting class ever" too, and did diddly dick with it.

No program has done less with more than Texas 8 & 4.

It's not even close.

That’s silly.

Tons of others factors that go into championships than recruiting rankings; we all know that.

Let it roll off your back.

Confused is right. Jealous is not.
A&M definitely shouldn’t have a number one class right now if it was based on merit. They bought a bunch of 17 year olds.

There are a number of factors at work here, and the loss of Malchow to Oregon may be one of the biggest hits this offseason. Still, the infrastructure is still in place and we promoted from within

Speaking of Oregon, I expect Oregon to have a pretty good class next year because it looks like Lanning is going all in on recruiting as well. Lupoi is a great assistant coach, but DC? Dude can recruit with the best of them

See, that's the problem.

A&M SHOULD have this class.

A&M SHOULD have been in the NC long ago, given the support, resources, and proximity to talent.

It has been the most inexplicable underachievement in college football history, and that's coming from MANY outsiders and sports media types.

In the early 1970 and 30 years prior, A&M shouldn't have the #1 class. NOW??? Completely different program, top to bottom.

The reason people believe that A&M shouldn't have the #1 class is because they have not paid attention and/or have been in denial.

Neither of those programs have close to the resources Aggy does, and both of those programs have won national titles this side of WWII.

No athletic program has done less with more and it's not even close.

They have a bunch of top notch, raw talent. They used the NIL well. Now the challenge is to forge that talent into a winning team. Not nearly as easy as many believe it will be.

Being humble is nice, but don't downplay how big this class was for you. It was a hell of a feat and it will undoubtedly make your team better next year.

Who the hell is jealous? A&M brought this on themselves because they've never been here and don't know how to act. They think they've invented the nuclear bomb and they're the only ones that can build it. Like this is no a permanent realignment.

Reality- If what A&M did was legal, we'll all copy it, and things will go back to normal. If what they did was illegal, they'll quit doing it, and things will go back to normal. Plus their stuck with 4-loss Fisher. He isn't going to win shite.

You could be right. We will see over the next few years.

Having a shite ton of talent certainly can't hurt.

At least he's honest unlike you. I'm jealous every season we haven't signed a #1 class
