re: After watching Bama/Va Tech do you feel more confident in beating Bama?

The interesting thing is going to be how cristobal molds the new OL. Mark may was talking about how nad their technique was and it was mentioned that their OL coach went to the eagles. Crisotbal and his work w the OL will obviously be the key to bamas season.

You don't think Alabama is capable of upsetting A&M?

Y'all still won by 21 against a BCS school. Bama will be fine.,.., except when they play LSU
And Y'all won by 7, should be another good game in Nov.

Yep and we won by 25. I thought he was making things up to add to the drama

Obviously.
And if something happens to A.J., Bama is in real trouble.
You could see where Saban wanted to run the clock off in the second half like he used to do and beat the team into submission, but that will not work right now.
And, I don't think you "fix" that O line in an off week. That's not to say they don't have enough firepower overall to beat A&M, though.
It's been that way with the O line all preseason and it was still that way in the first game. And, as the season goes along, it can only improve so much - and it might not be enough against a couple of teams on the schedule and then into the possible SEC Championships (if they make it that far) and bowl game.
Saban is great with the hand he's been dealt, but this is different because if you can't run block AND pass block, you're in trouble. Look for a lot of quick screens, ect., against A&M.

After UA/VaTech? Not really. Bama did what was needed and got a solid 35-10 win. My confidence is in watching LSU demonstrate an efficient O against a pretty good TCU D...among other things.

Well UGA returned their entire line, and they played like shite too. Clemson is ok I guess, but I would it had more to do with the first game jitters.
Besides if our whole line came back from last year, nobody would even watch this years season. Gotta have something we can improve on, shite.

I feel substantially more confident. Before the game, I thought you guys would have to have a Marshall style plane crash with subsequent forfeit for us to win. Now though a simple bus crash with your entire starting defense in the hospital and the rest of the team questioning their mortality should allow us to win. That is a tremendously more likely scenario, still not likely...but closer to reality.

We at Tennessee wont feel confident that Alabama will play down to us the way they did to the Hokies. Saban will have the Tide ready by the time our rivalry kicks off.

If our Oline doesnt come together we will lose 2-3. Lots of talent there but they played like hot garbage

nope, first game. Very few teams click on all cylinders the first game. Especially playing against another hyped up team. VT played above everybodys expectations and bama played below....now, if they still play like this in a couple of weeks, then.....maybe.
Bama rolled (no pun intended) against Michigan last year. They took their foot off of the pedal against them or they could've scored 60. Vs VaTech they didn't look close to as scary as 2012.
That D is still formidable but offensively they weren't playing the type of methodical Bama football that we've come to expect.
I think that bye week was the worst thing that could happen to them. Best case scenario would've been a couple of "scrimmages" against cupcakes to work out the kinks, not their second biggest game of the year coming up.

Definitely. They were better last year no matter what gump homers say.

That's like asking if you think that you'll score at will on A&M because of the defensive performance. I feel the same, if not a bit less confident after Saturday.
