After rewatching the LSU-Bama game, LSU is without question the better team

I'll admit...while watching the game with my heart pounding and drunk as all get out, I thought to myself that LSU was hanging on by the skin of their teeth, and that Bama was the superior team by a slim margin. I was happy we got out with a win in Bama's house (can't be overstated, IMO).

However, I rewatched the game in its entirety last night. Bama played much better in the first half, but LSU outplayed them in the 2nd and OT. What I did notice the second time, however, is that LSU is without question the superior team.

Bama's 2 INTs were gift wrapped (especially the 2nd one), and LSU's were both spectacular plays by the LSU defenders. LSU's D looked superior throughout the game, not to mention holding Alabama's rushing game to relative shite. Speaking of...

TR's only big plays (with the exception of 1 or 2 pretty strong runs) were on blown coverages and dump-off passes. Other than that, LSU's D shut him the frick down. That's saying a lot, given he's probably the best back to play CFB in the last 10+ years (IMO).

Don't think the special teams play even needs to be discussed, other than to say that much to the dismay of butthurt gump fans, it IS part of the game. Kicking. Fielding punts. Punting. All part of the game.

LSU coached a great game. Bama coaches tried to kick LONG arse FGs with clearly shitty kickers, and either missed or had them blocked.

There is no question in my mind that LSU is the better football team...not by a lot, but they're without question better. They beat Bama 7 out of 10 times on a neutral field.
