I'm willing to bet any amount of money he was referring to the Summer Unit Ops Lab. It's a right of passage, and four weeks of hell that generates great stories and teaches you more than any other class.

This. We have a damn good engineering dept. I'd put it up against Auburn's any day of the week.
Don't tell anybody, but the chemical engineering department is actually making some strides ahead of Auburn's on the research front. (But Auburn is quickly trying to improve this by hiring a lot of tenure track lecturer positions in ChemE to free up their professors to invest more time in research. Alabama has A LOT of great young faculty, but if they don't start following suit the teaching and research quality will go down significantly in the next 4-5 years)

Michael Kreger and Dan Turner may on par with those two, and that's just in the Civil Dept. I also have a ton of respect for a guy like Steven Jones.
However, I care mostly about how well the professor can teach the material. UA isn't lacking in that dept.

rating A&M's school of business higher than the Wharton School at UPenn is a crock of shite. you can roll with it but it is bogus. probably done by an aggie grad. businessinsider.com sucks.
Mad as hell.

Ive lived in Texas for a while now
a few years ago the aggies lumped their health science centers into the college station research numbers in order to inflate their research numbers
the health centers are no where near college station, and were reported separately until a few years ago, was a nice accounting trick
Does LSU include Shreveport and New Orleans health science centers into their total Research numbers?

as the Top 3 studies. Off season thread. Auburn: 1. Engineering (Auronautical, Civil, Wireless, Software, and Mechanical are difficult to make it through to say the least...must have the ability to pass Calculus I, II, and III). 2. Pharmacy (We just had a bomb threat from from someone in Mississippi that got rejected into our program. They closed the building and put policeman at the entrances until we could figure things out)...It turned out to just be a threat, but seriously, Why??? 3. Veterinary Medicine (we take animals of all sorts...most notably two zebras from Zoo Atlanta. We also place more Vet students at the Georgia Aquarium than any other school in the South East. It may not be much, but you can't deny that these degrees pay off. Not only in money, because of the small sample size in acceptance to work with, but in life experience as well. You can't beat these degrees if that is what you truly love to do in life. Please add your own opinions from your own particular school as well. I have 5 nieces and nephews who are about to graduate high school either this year, or next, and would love the insight as we are making a decision for colleges.
What about the College of Architecture, Design, and Construction?

Hasn't Auburn's architecture school been rated in the Top 10? I thought I had read that.
Our Architecture program is ranked by Design Intelligence (the most widely reported source for ranking design schools) as the #8 undergraduate program in the country...higher than any other SEC School. In fact, several of our programs within the CADC are nationally recognized.

Yeah it's common knowledge that Texas A&M is an ivy league caliber institution, and their business school is more elite than Wharton.

Well the Drummond family who goes engineering often goes to Auburn not Alabama despite the ties to the school

While AU is still ahead of UA in engineering, neither school is great. They are both just above average engineering at best.

Well damn. He was still listed on their website. I had him for a class. He's kind of a God in this region as far as transportation/traffic engineering goes.
And he is one of the nicest guys you'll meet.
