This is the crux of it. If OLOL or the LSU medical staff had performed a MRI a couple of weeks in, this would be a pretty open and shut case because there would be no case.
What exactly would be different?

Incorrect.

Whether it was day 1 or day 30, he would have had the same surgery with the same risk of complications.

The month long waiting period and misdiagnosis didn't cause him any further harm, the complications with the surgery did.

The life long effects are what they're actually suing over, the stuff about BK not visiting him or being misdiagnosed is just emotional fluff to blow the story up.

Yes it’s a downright lie saying Kelly wasn’t there

Multiple news article from the time of the surgery show Kelly was there

Also, Kelly’s response today
quote:

"There are many things I can't say, pending litigation, but it is factually incorrect to state that I was not there by Greg's side through this ordeal," Kelly said. "I was there on multiple occasions. There was someone from my staff there virtually every day. We love Greg."

"It was important to me to set the record clear about my care and love for Greg Jr. during this difficult time. "

"You can question me as a football coach, but off the field as a parent and husband, this is where the line is drawn with me."

"That comment struck a nerve with me. It hit my heart."

If true, perhaps you will get "lucky" and another LSU player will suffer a tragic injury/incident so you and your fellow Bama fans can celebrate it here once again.

Sadly it may very well happen. Brian Kelly has a track record that says it is possible.

One: The scissor lift death.

quote:

The details were released as IOSHA fined Notre Dame $77,500 for six safety violations tied to Sullivan's death, including knowingly putting its employees in an unsafe situation. The junior from Long Grove, Ill., was killed when the hydraulic lift toppled in gusts of up to 53 mph while he was filming football practice.

“ The decision to play outdoors was the coaches -- whether they were going to practice inside or outside, I think that was the coaches," Carter said.

Coach Brian Kelly told Marquell he decides whether to practice outside, relying "on information from my support staff."

Notre Dame Found at Fault in Sullivan’s Death

Two: Jaylen Smith tears ACL and LCL in Fiesta Bowl playing for Brian Kelly.. That began the mass post season opt outs we see today. Jaylon Smith lost $16 million dollars because of the injury. He himself had taken out an injury insurance policy that year, not Notre Dame, and it recouped some of this to the tune of around $700,000. But this injury changed college football.

quote:

But that is less of a story than the implications of Smith’s payout -- believed to be $700,000. Will the increasing availability of such insurance and seeming frequency of payouts make it more likely that more players will be skipping bowl games? “What you saw is the tip of the iceberg,” said Bryan Fisher, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based attorney who works with college players vetting insurance. “You’re going to see a lot of kids skipping.

Jaylon Smith Could Lead to Players Skipping Bowl Games

Three: Allowing Greg Brooks, Jr. to go through fall camp and play two games with a brain tumor.

Four: Putting a clearly concussed Jayden Daniels back in the game after missing only one play.

With a track record over the last 15 years like that, at this point I don’t think it would surprise anyone if something else tragic happened.

He wouldn’t have been on the field delivering and receiving repeated blows to the head for a month. He wouldn’t have gone through fall camp and played in two games while a tumor was growing inside his skull.

Are you suggesting that it is good for someone with an active, growing brain tumor to play full contact football?

I would bet you anything that you can not find one licensed neurologist that would say it is ok for someone with a brain tumor like Brooks had, one requiring emergency surgery as soon as it was discovered, to play tackle football. Not a single one.

Once they discovered the tumor did he continue playing football?

Median diagnosis time from first symptoms is 60 days for brain tumors

Brooks was diagnosed in 39 days. So they were above average there

The football coach doesn't directly supervise the film crew, that's usually a function of the athletic department.

It's weird that you blame the football coach and not the video coordinator or the athletic director.

Two: Jaylen Smith tears ACL and LCL in Fiesta Bowl playing for Brian Kelly

You're blaming the coach for a player suffering an injury.

quote:

Three: Allowing Greg Brooks, Jr. to go through fall camp and play two games with a brain tumor.

Now, you're blaming the coach for a player having a brain tumor.

quote:

I can't remember the exact sequence but didn't they call timeout and pull him from the game?

I don't think it's LSU's fault he got a brain tumor.

Nor is it ultimately their responsibility to find it.

I would award him $0.

No way you can be a Bama fan with this reasonable and sound thought process.

Nussmeier came in right after the hit and ran a play. Daniels was reinserted, a timeout was called, then Nuss came back in. Daniels didn't lodge another play the rest of the game.

At any rate, captdalton and cajunbama are throwing rocks from glass houses, as usual.

Former Husky football player alleges medical negligence in lawsuit against UW

quote:

However, when UW fired former head coach Jimmy Lake and hired Kalen DeBoer to take over, a new medical staff came on board and the team began off-season workouts.
According to the suit, Megwa did not have medical clearance to return to practice or other physical team activities.
"In early January 2022, despite not having medical clearance to participate in team activities, UW coaches instructed Emeka to participate in a team run and lift.

quote:

Megwa's lawyer claimed UW medical staff "constantly" pushed him into team activities without medical clearance.

quote:

Megwa's suit also alleges that he was repeatedly ridiculed by coaches in front of his teammates for not being able to fully participate in the workouts or finish them because of his pain.
In one instance, Megwa alleges a coach yelled: "drop your f****** nuts and get on the f****** line, that's some p**** a** s***!"

Ummm I’d hope you be in surgery much faster than 30 days in you complain about the symptoms daily. If he complained daily test would have been done within a week and immediate surgery

It wasn't daily.

He'd have an episode then be fine for awhile.

At least the Washington medical staff had access to a MRI.

In March 2022, Megwa had an MRI scan
