I said Bill Romanowski bc he's probably considered the dirtiest, and certainly the dirtiest I've ever seen, although I only caught the tail end of his career (am old enough to remember him punching his own teammates eye out of socket in practice tho)

Yes. But it was a different time. Butkus was something to behold. Check out some of his highlights. He might have been the toughest to ever play the game. Jack Lambert, the same. Mean and nasty.

I love that the 2010 AU UGA game gets so much pub still. Of the 5 times Fairly hit Murray only one time was late and he was flagged for it. The hit that caused the entire UGA team to meltdown in the 4th qtr was a normal, everyday hit just as the QB was releasing the ball. I dont remember Fairly ever being a dirty player, I just remember him destroying OLs to the point they lost their cool and blew up. I think a lot of uga vag beta types in this thread are conflating playing with an edge (think johnny football) with playing dirty (think Hines Ward).
