Hate is too strong of a word. I have family that are LSU Alum and many friends in the NW La area that are as well. No hatred for any of them.
What I can't stand is the arrogance of many of them about their program. You have only really come on as a major program in the last twelve years or so. Before that you were slightly above average for most of your history, except for some exceptional years in the fifties.
So a lot of you talk more trash than Alabama fans and they have about ten times as many accomplishments as you do.
It's just annoying and a little bit embarrassing that you don't recognize your place.

The reason that LSU and A&M hate each other is because they see themselves in each other.
There's no hate like self-hate, and LSU and A&M are very similar schools: ag schools, land grant schools, military background, petroleum engineering schools, great bands, rabid fan base, historical success in football and baseball, relatively close in proximity, the list goes on and on.
In the long run, I see LSU and A&M developing into the SEC's hottest rivalry.
