I think that's the point. I don't know if I would prefer to do it the same way they do it, but it is annoying to the visiting team and helpful with the home field advantage. The fans show up and are engaged in the game, yet refrain from throwing trash on the field. Hard to argue with that.

Fish Camp was a long time ago for me. In my time, yes on the traditions, but the yells focus was on those used at football games. There were baseball yells/chants that you just picked-up at the games.
