I cut it out of a pic I saw on TexAgs this morning.
Those three laughing like that was too good to not use.
Here is what I took it from.

Don't get me wrong, it needed to be addressed. My concern would be the way he went about doing it. A university official should be above going full-blown Bammer (or redass) in an official release.
You guys do understand this was in the monthly letter to former students. It was not a "press release" or official statement.
I'm sure he knew it would get out there, but it was still a statement made to Ags.

Like the Governor of Texas, Sharp is an Aggie, but until now, I figured he was smarter Rick Perry.
I don't think you want your system chancellor taking on a sports journalist over a football player with dubious character. Kinda shows the mindset at A&M.

it's really amazing that you only show up to post in threads about Manziel. I know it's depressing on the 40 acres but I always thought it was a joke that Manziel's possible violation was the most exciting thing that has happened to Longhorn football in the last 3 years. I'm beginning to think it's really true

I like how he called him #2.

You know... I wonder if anyone is worried that the chancellor going personal against the broker might provide incentive for him to start talking.
If it were me, I would have been on the phone this morning.

Man, what position does 34 play?

I don't disagree with a single thing this guy said about ESPN. I find it to be reckless reporting to just throw a story like this out there, without any proof.

cyde that's a good point that I've been thinking about. It makes me wonder what they know about Tienan. Obviously until now, it hadn't been reported that Tienan was ESPN's source and to specifically name him is odd.
I imagine there is a plan to it but frick if I know what it is.

quote:Honestly, when I read it I thought it was a joke seeing that it was written by the chancellor. Most chancellor's/president's wouldn't even take the time to lower themselves and their position to scratch around in the dirt vetting their opinion on journalists/dope dealers/brokers, etc.
I just don't think it was the chancellor's place to go there about it.
Bringing up the dealer's criminal background, in my opinion, was folly, though.
Number one, the fact that the guy sold dope doesn't preclude him from buying autographs.
Number two, the fact that he sold dope doesn't hold water as an effective defense for Johnny if it turns out that someone, somewhere can prove that he did.
That, in my opinion, was a Bad Move which could come back to bite him someday. He went way too personal.
Not many chancellor's would step out of their collared shirt & tie and be so public and forthcoming.

tbf though, the articles by ESPN are casting negative light on A&M's image. It's his job to protect that image. Not sure this is the most effective way, but A&M needs to do something if this isn't true (or can't be proved).

pretty sure Rovell denied DT was a source a few days ago.

Actually, he apparently got popped form simple possession, not any kind of trafficking or sale, so yeah.
I'd be incensed. You can't trust a guy who smokes weed, yet they seem to trust Manziel implicitly...

if he asked to be anonymous, wouldn't he deny it regardless of whether he was or wasn't?
