This tweet (from the same guy) shows an A&M track athlete pushing pennies off the statue then getting pissed when an old man gets in his way.

Then shows a football player take his shirt off and confront another old man. Good times in college station this summer!

Maybe the older guy should be mature enough and wise enough to understand that statues honoring bigots & racists & segregationists , that were in many cases erected when Minorities were disenfranchised and had no voice in America, just maybe those monuments aren't worth saving and should come down

Maybe that older guy should understand that it is time, especially for monuments that never should have been erected in the first place

If the older guy was really smart, he'd be asking why the assholes that erected that statue couldn't simply find a more deserving person to build a monument for

Before any a-hole chimes in with the bullshite "he was a man of his Era excuse", even back then Americans knew that slavery and Jim Crow discrimination was twisted and evil, so the bullshite excuse of "it's unfair to judge them based on 2020 standards" doesn't fly because even back then people knew those aforementioned institutions with evil and wrong

When you honor the wrong people, this is what you get at some point in the future

The really shameful part is we have people here on the rant defending people that were evil assholes from another generation that were likely worse Humans than Ted Bundy, but since their evils were directed at Blacks, then they deserve some sort of special consideration, you see a white southerner can never be held accountable for the way he treated those "coloreds" cause that's just the way things were back then

The more I think about it, that old guy is lucky, very lucky and I'll leave it at that

That is a long-winded post just to say I know nothing about this statue.

Apparently there are no “right” people. I wonder how long before they go for the Lincoln Memorial.

Not attacking, just asking: who would be someone from history that lives up to the modern standard of honorable?

Washington? Owned slaves
Lincoln? Didn’t want black people to be equal
American Indians? Rape and murder were a huge part of their culture.
MLK? Was he down with the Trans-movement? Idk!

I think statues of people are strange to begin with. Just wanted your two cents.

... until Gov. Lawrence Sullivan Ross fought for and won the continuation of Prairie View A&M, you mean? Or do you think Texas universities should have been desegregated in 1886? (Yeah, that would have worked well!)

sul ross died in 1898 the statue erected in 1918, he is credited with single handedly saving texas a&m during his tenure as it's president. you have to be the dumbest son of a biotch on the planet!

if you really want to rail on something the university of arkansas' college or arts and sciences is named after william fullbright, who voted against the civil rights act of 1964!

I mean P.G.T. Beauregard is "cancelled" because he was a racist and Confederate general.

No one talks about how he changed later in life and actually became an advocate for black civil rights.

I don’t think people these days are interested in changes people made later in life. Any blemish (some small, some enormous) on the resume and you’re done

So now you are threatening someone?

If you do not know the history behind that statue and why it holds a special place on the campus, open a book.

Meanwhile, I see you are from Georgia. When are you blasting down the display at Stone Mountain?

Hmm. Moving forward, who gets to decide who are the “wrong” or “right” people? The Ministry of Love or the Ministry of Truth?

Hey PJ
Admit it, you know nothing of the men these statues are honoring but you are ready to call them evil assholes and yank 'em down. That makes you an evil a-hole too, dontcha think?
