Sort of forgotten now, but Houston used to be known as "The Bayou City." The annual game between Rice and Houston is known as the "Bayou Bucket." SE Texas had bayous, we just drained and paved most of them. But I'm not sure many Ags from other parts of Texas would relate to that.

"The Gulf War" is far and away the BEST moniker I've heard 
Too bad the climate is so PC these days that it'll never happen. "Sabine River Rivalry" is an anemic, but acceptable, second choice.

There is a rivalry called The Civil War that is still called that so I dont really see where they would frown on The Gulf War IMO.
