Yup. Happened after ya’ll joined.
I'd love to take credit for tanking the SEC but it happened because Saban retired.

Has A&M not looked better since playing Notre Dame, specifically their defense?

Hey genius the Aggies won each of those games by an average of 15 points.
Auburn was close at 6. The others were a difference of 17 and 22. Last I checked, and I am just spitballing here….14 points is less than 15.
So even if your analysis is correct (And it’s not) it doesn’t even make sense in the context of the margin of victory A&M has had.
But go on with your bad self.

Sure would be fun to watch Tech kick Aggie butt in the playoffs. It'd be like old times. So don't fall off the cliff like you always do.

It’s funny how the old guard of the SEC starts saying the conference sucks as soon as it’s not one of the original members who’s leading the pack.

I think "clear favorite" isn't something that applies to anyone in the SEC right now. I do think A&M has been the most consistent so far and has the fewest weaknesses but there are definite flaws.
Aggy has a very complete team.
The D has been suffocating in SEC play, the 6% 3rd Down conversion stat is just insane. They have given up some plays but for the most part they are plays that were perfectly executed and well defended. Very physical Front 7 that is tough to run consistently on. Legit pass rushers that get to the QB fast. Solid DB's that can cover 1v1 against good receivers.
The O is extremely balanced and has no glaring flaws in terms of position groups. QB makes good decisions with few TOs and can run, not a great deep ball passer even though he had one this week but distributes the ball all over the place. 2 outstanding WR's so you can't focus on either. Multiple quality RB's (hopefully Moss is ok). Solid OL that creates holes and protects the QB (0 Sacks against UF). Multiple TE's that can block and catch to make big plays including the GW against ND.
Special teams is shaky. Quality return guys but penalties have killed some great returns. Kicker is good inside 40 but a crapshoot further out. Punter has a block but is decent. Not a glaring flaw but not a strength either.
The style of the team is to adjust to what is given and beat you in multiple ways. The key though is a defense that may give up a few plays but they tighten up and strangle teams. The last 3 games they absolutely got in the heads of the QB's on the other side and frustrated them. The thing that has me feeling most positive though was we only had 3 penalties in this game, that has been a huge concern they need to stay consistent with.
This team isn't '95 Nebraska or one of the elite Saban Bama teams but no one is this year. It is a physical, well coached, and talented team that is playing with confidence and character to find ways to win even when things aren't going to plan. Will they get to Atlanta? SECC? Natty? Who the hell knows. I'd say they are all on the table but all it takes is smelling their own farts and going into Fayetteville or BR or Columbia not being ready for a battle. The only thing I feel certain of in this league this year is the difference between the #1 and the #12 is not much and I don't know how anyone runs the table. In the meantime it's been fun, Kyle was an absolute blast last night.

We beat you tortilla throwers the last 3 times we played and lead the overall series. I mean you can pine for the days of Fran vs Leach I guess but some of the players weren't even born then for your brief moment of glory.

My wife and brother went to tech.
I dont think A&M beat tech for the first 5 years of my marriage.
Those were some dark years.
There were many weekends where our game was not even on TV.

This. I haven’t seen all of your games but of all the SEC team A&M looks like the most complete team right now. Maybe not the perfect team but definitely the most complete on both sides of the ball. And I’ve been saying that since ND game.
When Moss went down last night I think it affected the offense a bit but they still put it away. So many weapons on offense though and I’m really amazed how much Reed has improved in just a year.
Looking ahead to the Texas game, maybe our defense can slow you but really tough to see our offense keeping pace.

Aggy beat your poverty school the last 3 tries. Poverty school boy.

Yep, cause our chancellor and Craig James/ESPN sunk our school for a number of years. No question about that.

All because Craig James wanted special treatment for his son, and Leach was like "frick that".
And then they proceeded to frick leach out of his money due.
Began a dark age for Tech football.

Yep, Leach was the only coach who could consistently win at Tech with much lower level of recruits overall than the competition. Thankfully with Tech able to buy quality players we don't need such a good head coaching anymore to win.

I’d put them this way currently.
1. Alabama
- loss in Week 1 @ FSU
- win @ #9 Georgia
- win @ 16 Mizzou
- win vs #17 Vandy
2. Texas A&M
- win @ #13 Notre Dame
3. Ole Miss
- win vs #10 LSU
4. Georgia
- loss to #6 Alabama
- win @ #11 Tennessee
Others have work to do.
eta: 3 and 4 maybe should swap, but it’ll get ironed out this week

That’s true about Bama, they have the best resume right now. My money would go on a&m though if they played.

Last year they started 7-1 then finished 1-4. Im sure that won’t happen again. Lol.

Uhhh, what do you call ND offense? If they are not elite after scoring 40 on you then what is your definition of elite?
