A&M is better on defense than on offense

Here is one LSU fan to say that Chavis has made a huge impact on that defense. I do believe he inherited some great talent (especially on the line), but he has made changes to maximize it. LSU fans mocking A&M's defense because of Henry's day don't really know what they're talking about. A&M held Bama to 6 second half offensive points, and for that matter, held Bama to 20 total offensive points. Coker had a grand total of 138 passing yards, and Henry was held in check in the 2nd half (17 carries for 59 yards).

The problem this year is not A&M's defense, it's the offense. Their offensive line is not up to their usual snuff, and for all their attempts to improve their running game, it is terrible. When you combine an ineffective running game with an erratic passing attack, it is not a good combo when you play a good defense. Kyle Allen is a good QB when he has time to throw, and he would be even better if he had a running game he could rely on.

Maybe a better way to say it is that A&M's defense is more consistently effective than the offense.

I would say their defense is above average. Their scoring defense has been good enough to be unbeaten. Their offense is above average as well, with a lot of great playmakers on the outside. They are soft in the middle on offense.

I actually agree with you. The biggest problem with our run game is our RB. He is too slow, and is not a big play threat at all. This allows teams to play deep safeties, which in turn makes it harder for us to pass the ball

A&M is going to bend us over and go in dry.

Just because College Station is obviously having internet connectivity issues does not mean you need to start posting for them.

Will someone please send a tech out to College Station to get this fixed!

They have no running game, and below average LBs. You're not winning this league with that combination.

You're a loon if you think we're just going to handle A&M. Yeah I think we'll run at will still going to be a tough game till the end.

It hurts when you have 3 running backs injured for the year.

White is another power back, but he's clearly faster than Carson. Then we have 2 true freshman than were high level HS sprinters and neither will play a down this year. So if it isn't Carson then its an undersized SR white walk on or a true freshman walk on. Trey Williams leaving early & missing on a back in 2014 is coming back to bite with this injury bug.

No doubt about it. The O-line was elite in 2012 and has steadily decreased in effectiveness every year since. That is a fact. Now, of course, what with 3 first rounders and another couple of early rounders drafted in the last couple of years, that will happen. But, will they be able to reach that 2012 level again in the near future?

No running game, can't stop the run. How many SEC champions have had that combination?

It's nice to go up against someone's backup center.

The talent level was unheard of.

3 first round NFL tackles (LT, RT, LG) and Pat Lewis who has started some for SEA at C. Near impossible to keep the line as good.

Maybe, but that's football. Isn't Alabama's third string whatever better than anyone else's starter?

Also, it was also Chavis making adjustments and going with his jumbo package to stop the run. They did that and also did just fine against the weak Bama passing attack.

Look, Chavis has been a DC in the SEC for, what, 30 years or so (it seems like it). He knows what he's doing. Yes, his defenses have had some late game collapses, but when you play great teams, sometimes they rise to the occasion late in the game.

Now, what he did to us on game day against Notre Dame was utter trash. I'll never forget that. Forgive, sure. Forget, no.

#7 is gonna run for 300 when they bring that soft arse defense to Death Valley. They cant run the ball and cant stop the run. That only works in the Big 12, not the SEC. Their QB's played like shite against Bama, served up 3 pick 6's by making stupid decisions and overthrowing open receivers when he had them. Both their offense and defense contributed heavily to their beating. The Aggies dont match up well with teams that play power football, lucky for them only a few teams in the league still block and tackle.

This is exactly the way I see LSU's game against aTm.

#7 is a more powerful runner than Henry, and Henry gained +100 yrs in the first quarter. We lost our center for the entire 2nd half and it showed.

LSU will pressure their QB because they have no running threat, their QB will be forced to move the ball and LSU's secondary will take care of buisness just like our boys did.
