I heard from some Aggies that Kyle Field was due for renovation and investment. Is this true and, if so, what are the plans? Kyle Field looks like it could tip over right now what with the world's largest grandstand in one end zone and open pasture in the other:

From those pics, the end zone section seems larger than the sideline sections. Is that true? if so, why?

Starting as soon as this season is over. Won't all be done at once though

Plans to start renovating are in 2013. Heard everything from tearing it down deck by deck and rebuilding to expanding the south endzone as well. They haven't exactly said what is going to take place yet.

The endzone isn't larger. And the endzone is the exact same endzone as the Swamp. We used their blueprints to save money

They are a lot of rumors. Renovation and additions will take place after 2012 or 2013. $$ is starting to roll in with the SEC move. The need for a club level, more suites and updated restrooms/concessions might force them to rebuild both sides completely. The south endzone is being designed as we speak. Might have to play a year or two at Reliant or Cowboy Stadium

Yes just rumors, but more likely to tear out the first deck and rebuild since they 2nd/3rd deck are independent of the 1st. Atleast thats what a couple of my engineer coworkers are saying

the tackle box appearance will be complete if they can put in a giant retractable lid that folds to either side.

It sounds like major renovations will not begin until after 2013 if they still have not decided what will actually take place.

The top priority for me would be to close in the open end zone not just for extra capacity but for balance and aesthetics. The stand would not need to be as big as the other one. Apparently, the current end zone stand seats 22K. Supposedly, the two sideline stands seat around 30K each.

Add a new end zone stand that seats around 10-12K and Kyle Field's capacity would climb to around 93K.

GA the restrooms on the west and east side remind me of wrigley field. Never been renovated. Horrible. That along with the concessions have to be addressed first

Mark me down for one that greatly hopes for major renovations.

Definitely agree. Not sure when you were at Kyle last (if at all) but it is in need of major over hall. It's a dump outside of the north end zone.

It's not exactly the same but I see the resemblance. Copy cats.

The Corps block has not always existed, and I agree they need to break it up.

However the only thing we do know about the renovation is that they are starting in 2013, there are a lot of rumors about how they are going to go about it and when it's going to take place.

PSU's is similar too, but it doesn't have the small middle deck.
