Ok then. So we can stop the silly implication about A&M's fan base being lethargic or apathetic. Brother Cheshire's numbers here show why A&M finds it more beneficial to play home and home....$$.
Hog fans: you need to follow your brother Cheshire's lead. He's a fact man; a good man.

This is all about recruiting as stated before, but all of you are either too retarded or focused on trolling to understand that. You should be more focused on why your precious Jerry allows your SEC West superiors to play marquee games in his domain

Because his new stadium costs money and he is trying to make money to pay it off.
Obviously, Arkansas will be welcome to play there again while aTm's fair weather fans will probably prevent them from having the privilege.

Is the erector set scrambling your brain or have you always employed selective comprehension when reading?
Perhaps you should demote yourself to Lincoln Logs...

He obviously doesn't mind giving LSU and Alabama a nice presence in DFW alongside y'all, despite caring so deeply for his beloved alma mater. And IDGAF if we ever play there again during the regular season, I've gone all 4 times and hate it. I'd rather play at Reliant if were going to do a neutral site.

So traveling in your home state is too daunting of a task so the game must be moved within two hours for a neutral site to be viable.
Sounds about right.

At the end of the day he is a businessman and has to pay off the enormous tab on that stadium. He was been whoring it out right and left since he built it. That's not a shock to anyone.
The difference is he has actively worked with Arkansas to find a partner for a long term series there as opposed to a one game deal that other teams have had.

I'm not surprised he does, but I bet he could make a similar amount of money matching Texas or OU with a marquee opponent. I was mostly trying for a reaction from the other trolls.
And I prefer Reliant because its not 30 miles from everything

Yes, and it was fun while it lasted. The reality is, that stadium (like the city) is for professional sports. Carrying on a long term series there only further dilutes whatever positive experiences the respective fan bases initially had. It's like being stoked about your brand new Mercedes but not having the foresight that you'll be over it by 2015.
College games were meant to play on college campus's, with certain (special) exceptions.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the stadium either. I would have much rather seen the series played at an outdoor stadium. I think that is what makes the UGA/UF, OU/UT and KU/MU neutral site games much more attractive and work as yearly off campus games.

I agree, and its too bad the Cotton Bowl is so shitty otherwise that would make perfect sense

Just saw an article in the Chronicle that stated that, now that this is going to be a conference game, that means that neither team can host recruits at the game (SEC doesn't allow this for neutral site conference games, apparently). That would mean that A&M, as the host team next year, wouldn't get to host recruits at this game. If that's the case, that's pretty much the nail in the coffin as this game was about recruiting presence almost as much as money.

I would hold my tongue when saying something like that. This year really hit a large part of the fanbase pretty hard. I've been to 12 games in Kyle Field over the past 5 years, and usually the maroon wearing cult always has optimism. This year I was in the student section for the Texas game, and when y'all were up early, nobody really got that excited. Everyone I talked to said "don't worry, we'll blow it in second half". Sumlin has to make sure to change that otherwise you'll see apathy start creeping into the program.
