I think UT might surprise a few teams next year. I mean, they can't be any worse...can they?

Yes... Yes they can...

Haha fair enough. Maybe I'm taking the AU side because you guys are kind of in the same position we were in last year. I think Gus has done a great job bringing in crazy good talent (especially on that d-line) so i think y'all will be much improved.

A lot of my family went to auburn so I'm actually pulling for you guys

Talking about the difference between 3 and 4 is really splitting hairs, but out of curiosity why switch?

Because one of those teams can beat USC and the other can't. One of those teams has a history of abject failure in the cocktail party going back 20 years and the other has lost two in a row for the first time in a long time. One has the best defense returning, the other's defense lost the majority of its playmakers that couldn't hold UT below 30 points. One of those teams is situated in the state of Florida, the other recruits what that university doesn't want.

Counterpoint: Gurley.

I think that covers it.

Freak may be a future first round draft pick. He's really a freak.

No doubt. I like Freak a heck of a lot. Like you said he is a Freak but he isn't going to plug vs the run.

But he's a good slot CB.

He was sometimes. But then who are they going to start outside? Another true freshman? Other than that all they have is Raymond and Thomas. I'm not even going to count Holmes who just moved from WR.

Martin is so so. Him and Loston aren't exactly world beaters, but can be serviceable.

I think Loston is more than serviceable when healthy but he is barely ever healthy.

Who will be replacing your past defensive players?

It's going to be interesting to see. We've got talent, but I have no faith in some of our players we need to step up and be leaders.

Trolling? Reid wasn't that great.

Not at all. Reid is underrated by some LSU fans. He was a very good player. He did have some bad plays now and again but overall....

So we're going by history to determine this? Florida lost several playmakers on defense. Georgia has one of the best offenses in the nation.

Same here. Sometimes you have to have that strong presence in the locker room and outside of it to get young guys on track. Freeze did it wonderfully. I think Gus will to

DE and Safety.

I already talked about LSU so I'll talk about UGA

DE:

Garrison Smith returns who has been a good player in limited rotational time.

Ray Drew who was an absolute animal in HS is stepping up big time, as Mark Richt has mentioned.

Safety:

Tray Matthews has been running as 1st team FS.

Corey Moore and Shaq Fluker are at SS. Fluker is an animal who was a great JUCO player. Some of his hits are beyond nasty.

Matthews and Fluker are going to end up killing someone with their hits.

FWIW... The WLOCP record is 3-3 in the last six years & UF leads 5-4 the last nine with 3 of those losses being by 4, 7 & 3 points in OT...

It's been a competitive series for a decade now. The 90's are over...
