You mean when Norvell gets the call up to the big leagues and Memphis needs a new coach that knows the area and can recruit well? I could buy that.

Yep...I left it open for a few possibilities. Very high probability that this prediction hits.

1) Auburn: Gus is on the hot seat and Auburn will be desperate if he doesnt get it turned around soon. Theres no way they would turn away a guy whos proven he can out coach Saban. He should have had 3 consecutive wins over Bama. He was up by 20 in the first half of the last one before he went conservative. Basically beat himself.

2) Memphis: He's a legendary highschool coach in city and keeps him within his familiarity zone. Its an under the radar program that doesnt get too much national attention. Places like that are good for coaching rehab. If their current head coach keeps puttin up W's then he'll be grabbed up by a bigger program soon, leaving the door open for Mr. Freeze.

3) LSU: Yaw yaw wont get more than 2 years if he cant prove that he can maintain an elite program at LSU. LSU wont "settle" for another mediocre coach again, and I doubt they'll take a chance on an unproven up and comer. Hugh is a proven coach, despite his personal life, which lets be honest, your average fan doesn't really give a f**k about their coaches personal life, they just want W's. LSU will be thirsty, and look passed his personal issues. Their flamboyant culture wont exactly expect Hugh to be a saint.

4)Missouri: The whole school is turning into a dumpster fire. Their standards arent very high and Hugh might be the kinda gamble theyd be desperate enough to make.

I would be shocked if Memphis goes with a re-tread coach after Norvell leaves. Seem to have a pretty good agency that goes after up and coming assistants. Not to mention Memphis already passed on him for two different jobs way back when.

While that may be true, I doubt it's at the NCAA level. The standard level-1 violation calls for a 2-5 year show-cause, and he got hit with the 'head coach responsibility' charge

Thats why I'm saying 2 years. I doubt he is suspended any longer than that.

Memphis passed on him for the chick hoops job. No way they give him the keys to the football program. Especially with all the smoke around him.
