Maybe the FBI guys can take a look at this when they're done getting the basketball coach fired.

Thank you.

Why?

Certainly someone needs to put a stop to the rampant law breaking and cheating down there. It's apparent the school can't do it.

These kinds of ignorant statements always amuse me.

Last I checked we didnt have our coach on FBI tapes.

I was asking if this was possibly part of the unreported off-field incidents (and not as a smartass either).
My point was that the author would not have used those words to describe his behavior if he had been referring to rape (not being a smartass either). So, no, I doubt that particular person knew about that. He/she was probably referring to other red flags.

Innocent until proven guilty, but a big question is how much did Coach O know? Sounds like he knew quite a bit. Yikes.

It looks as though the ball was dropped possibly by the Title IX department and the tennis coach in the second case.
To expand further on that, in Title IX you don't have to have a formal complaint to investigate. You're still obligated in that department to investigate the claim. If all they did was ask her if she wanted to file a formal complaint, that could be a Title IX issue.
Agree that in a perfect world the school shouldn't be responsible for that action. But unfortunately, it is. And you receive a frickton of training about your responsibilities in that case too, so you should know if you're in the department dealing with that.

Question 1:
What is the nature of a school’s responsibility to address sexual misconduct?
Answer:
Whether or not a student files a complaint of alleged sexual misconduct or otherwise asks the school to take
action, where the school knows or reasonably should know of an incident of sexual misconduct, the school
must take steps to understand what occurred and to respond appropriately.2 In particular, when sexual
misconduct is so severe, persistent, or pervasive as to deny or limit a student’s ability to participate in or benefit
from the school’s programs or activities, a hostile environment exists and the school must respond.

Per @RapSheet on Derrius Guice just now: “He was described as ‘high maintenance’ and ‘immature’” and had off-field incidents at LSU that went unreported.

I can't imagine the NCAA trying to build their defense against this woman's law suit without dragging LSU through an investigation.

Their defense is that they literally do nothing but hand out fines and bowl bans.

I would think not having the actual victim willing to even give a statement is pretty much a non-starter even given the heightened requirements of Title IX.
Regardless, even if that constitutes a technical Title IX violation, the actual facts don’t give rise to some nefarious athletic department plot to silence rape victims

There has to be an investigation into how LSU handled this and if anyone did screw up, tried to cover it up, look the other way or whatever, they need to be fired. I don't care who it is.

Honestly it depends on how bad they’ve fricked up how they investigate claims.
You can’t really feign the “oh we didn’t know that” because they absolutely drill it into your brain if you’re staff in an education setting (particularly higher ed).
They’re pretty hardass about following Title IX procedure so any potential victim doesn’t feel intimidated not to report. Or that their concern won’t be heard. LSU opens themselves up to the criticism that they didn’t give a frick about accusations if they half arse it.

“I probably would have lost my (expletive) on him.” He said LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron brought up the subject of his then-girlfriend and Guice about a year after the alleged assault, telling the athlete he shouldn’t be bothered by it. “(Orgeron) said, ‘Everybody’s girlfriend sleeps with other people,’ ” the former player told USA TODAY.

Sounds like Orgeron was trying to make the kid feel better since Guice was bragging about fricking his girlfriend.
Not sure how you concluded O knew "quite a bit" about rape allegations from that statement.
