Again, do you think Vandy was paying top 9 money for Pavia?

I dont care. I know third party deals are represented on that number.

Amaris Williams supposedly made 350,000 at Auburn and he was much more highly sought after.
He turned down Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and the list goes on and on and on.

The new AU coach is cutting the two starters from his payroll which is very smart. He will have to upgrade Duece salary and convince him to stick around behind Brown for one year.

Getting Brown to come to AU is the deal. Has to happen. Cutting the two QB's money and passing it to these other two QB's will most likely cost AU near 2 million to the balance sheet. Still a solid plan for 2026.

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $119K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

It doesn't get any more clear than that.

Well then why are you convinced that On3 number represents the number schools are paying to their athletes? Like Vandy making Pavia a top 9 paid athlete?

We know Amaris made 350,000 because we also know he wanted that number doubled.

Why in the frick am I supposed to believe some lesser player in Perry Thomposn was being paid "like an All American?"

Pavia is a terrible example, where are you going with this? He was a maybe 5’9 0* from New Mexico. He came out of no where. His value was extremely unpredictable.

Why are you guys so upset? The team was 5-7, in this day and age I’d hope we have a lot of players portal. Especially with a new coach.

Going to the portal doesn’t mean leaving 100%.

There are 8 USF bulls in the portal, all rated 3 star or less.

I didn’t realize college football players are rated on the stars system.

I assumed they use their actual college football film to evaluate them.

Mainly because of the coach and QB. Change the Coach and the QB and strengthen the roster is what you ideally want. The defections will pile up and and we would have to deal with that, but paying less money up front is pouring gas on the fire.

You say this "day and age" as if your mindset has shifted but reality is you are using the same archaic logic as the rest of them.

Auburn is not done bleeding out yet and already down into the 60s in scholarship players while the scholarship roster size will be allowed to balloon to 105 next season. Like I said in 2022 when you are adding 40ish new players to the roster at one time there will be too big of a mixed bag in success, and the odds of competing drops as the number of misses inevitably piles up. You are seeing that phenomenon on a bigger level in basketball this year. We had to recruit a whole roster in one year- some were fine, some were not ready, and some will be busts, thus the players in the later 2 will have a greater impact than the additions.

Thankfully the portal is a two way street.

Agree 100%. Hopefully Deuce is good with competing for top spot and playing backup. But yeah, Brown is the guy.

Why is Golesh trying to reinvent the wheel?

Because the wheel had a flat tire and rolled to 3 straight losing seasons. I don’t know if his plan will work, but I’m at least willing to see what happens and think optimistically. Russians play chess. Let’s see how the portal goes before we start hyperventilating.

We currently have an interest in the Auburn program because there’s a couple of wideouts that we’re about to pluck from your program. This is the main reason we hired your wide receivers coach.
