Well, the way things look right now, I am going to have to disagree with you.
Then you must not remember the glory days of Bama very well. Bama would not even have batted an eyelash at a 5-0 start back then; it was usually a given. If they beat Auburn and LSU every year for the next 6 years, they will still not be above .500 against either in the lifetime of some high school kids. That is a far cry from the glory days of Bama.

Alabama's first half against Georgia is by far the most impressive performance by ANY college team this season. They play like that for 60 minutes and they will win the NC.

LSU will have to play at its best and hope the 2nd half Gumps show up.

Should be a great game.

Whoa there homie. Lets not go overboard here. I absolutely agree that Bama is playing great ball right now. But, do not be blinded by all this Bama talk. LSU still has better players. If both teams played their absolute best, LSU should still win. Now, what will actually transpire, is another thing. Just saying, we don't need Bama to not play their best(as they did 2nd half Georgia) to beat them. We can still beat them. It will just have to be a well rounded team effort.

BINGO!

Bama has some good players...some who are Freshman.

Check to see how many Freshman are playing for LSU.

Not too damn many...reason: LSU is loaded with stud players and we simply reload, year in, year out.

Bama being "back" is a pipe dream. The days of SEC dominance are over.

By the time LSU plays Bama, the teams only apparent weakness, QB will be much better...in fact, it already is.

Once again, thanks for beating Georgia and shutting up those whiners.

Saban will get his and Bama will be competitive. We can all agree on that. I look forward to having another national player in the SEC...

Now here is where some of the Gumps get a little carried away. There is no way in hell or on Gods green earth they will be dominant like they were. Its impossible being surrounded by such good recruiters at good schools.

sorry my fellow bayou dweller, but these cats is fo reel......seriously. I hate like hell to admit it, but Saban is doing his black magic.

Do I see them beating us this year? no. I sense a 2004 LSU-UGA scenario for them.

You have a lot of titles to win JUST to catch up with us in the modern era.

What do you consider the modern era?

If you go since 1990 (seems modern to me)

Lsu 2 National titles
3 SEC titles

Ala 1 National title
2 SEC titles

Yall have one more of each in that time frame. Not the many many that you refer to. As far as yall being wayyyy better, yeah, you have been better, there's no doubt. If we win one before yall do, we're tied, so that's not an astronomical amount to catch up to. Not that I expect to get this in the next couple of years, but hopefully if we continue improving, sooner than later it will happen.

You have to go back 30 years for Bama to lead the head to head.

1987. Thats the last year we had the advantage going head to head. That puts us 11 wins to your 10 wins in that time frame, not quite 30 years, but still alot, I agree. I even used a calculator to double check. Thats 21 years. You're only 9 years off on that.

You've been an afterthought for years.

We've definately been down more than up the past several years. However, even losing to yall in 05, we were'nt much of an afterthought as it took OT. Last year was quite a battle too. I expect this year to be also. I guess your inaccurate statements to "scare" some of the Bama flamers is more proof that you really don't think of Bama as an afterthought.

In any case, I expect this years game to be another hard fought game between two well coached teams and hope that both teams take care of business and make it a match of unbeatens when that time comes.
