So you saw a car coming, ASSUMED they would stop despite them legally having the right-of-way, and then pulled out when they were apparently already so close to you that they couldn't stop in time?

Based on your diagram you simply didn't yield to the other driver since you were the one at the stop sign and he was not. Also, if he gave you a courtesy stop then he increases the likelihood that he gets rear ended from behind since there is no expectation for him to stop. It's mind boggling how many drivers don't understand simple things on the road.

if you hadn't entered the intersection unlawfully, it wouldn't have happened. Same rules apply when turning left into oncoming traffic. If you get t-boned, you're at fault. The other drivers are not responsible for your not yielding to cars who have the right-of-way

Not for nothin', but my perception is that the vast majority of Silverado drivers are putzes. It's like these things should come stocked with "Curs Laght".

You are required to stop until you have the ability to go through the intersection unharmed. He is required to do nothing.
