He's a terrible coach.

Like the late hit on the QB: that's poor coaching.

Clock management, a qb sweep with KT instead of up the middle for a yard, etc., etc. Poor coaching. The ticky tack phantom calls to keep uterus in the game didn't help, but it shouldn't of come down to that.

I don't want him fired necessarily, as I'm apathetic about college sports in general, so I don't really care one way or another, but I don't think he's a bright guy, and his program matches that.

You don’t go for it on 4&1 on the wrong side of the field, that gambling when you do not need to. You don’t punt to an all star punt returner with with a minute to play and up by a td. Running the qb sweep with the sub qb, when all he ever runs is the sweep, is not smart play calling. Played like wimps on offense second half and defense quit the pressure like the first half. It appears that Libby has built a gem that can compete, but his dumb calls have cost at least two game, Tx and Fl. (Assuming the kick , never taken, would have been good. I watched the game with my State wife and several times, after I made a comment about what should take place, and did not, she said maybe you should the plays. On one, punt it out of bounds, not to that guy. TD. One other, I said, “no, not on 4 & I on the wrong side of the 50”. TD.
Libby should work. out with the team.

Sounds like you were watching from an endzone perspective. It was actually a hell of a punt and went over Niblett’s head; he probably had to run 10-15 yards backwards to field it. And this was really the issue, that the kick was so good that it overstretched MSU’s return coverage.

But yeah, out of bounds would’ve been better.

True, I just rewatched the punt, however, but four guys barely missed the tackle, getting just a piece of him.

I’d say the market is gonna be so competitive this year that it makes sense to wait another year, and if Lebby is still making bone head decisions, go after a bigger name.

Hard no. Weis gets a much worse rap than he deserves. Lebby is an emotional diva who can pound sand.

This is part of the equation. Our depth and S&C is questionable at best. We can not close games when needed. How many 3rd and 1 plays did we botch yesterday? Any one of those would have put the game away. Add in the dumb penalty hitting late and we win.

Yeah Lebby eats crayons especially on 1st and 4th downs but the players aren’t able to finish.

Chad Morris was getting drubbed regularly. I think Lebby has to get one more year to see what he can do. He will have his chosen QB and a healthy Fluff. I’d like to see what that combo can do.

Y'all are better than you have been so I get what a frustrating position that is. You dump him and it might be back to 3 win seasons

I think he’s a good coach man. He’s working with scraps. I can’t imagine he won’t get better at the gameday stuff. But him some real players and then judge. His team is awful.

I was underwhelmed with him at OU but I think he deserves one more year. Not the year to be looking for a coach unless you have deep pockets

But he’s also put the team in position to win literally every game we’ve played this season

An L is still an L

It would be one thing if we were simply getting beat in close games due to not quite having the talent and experience to win.

The problem is it’s obvious we should be winning. We looked like the better team in every loss outside of A&M. Lebbys poor decision making has given those games away, like going for it on 4th down with a lead in our own territory in the 4th quarter or punting the ball directly to the best punt returner in the nation. He does shite that goes against the very basic strategy of football that any junior high football coach is smart enough to avoid doing

I turned over and watched the last 5 mins of the game yesterday. State up 38-28.
So I see the punt return. State gets the ball back and driving down the field with like 55 seconds left and 2 TO’s. QB gets tackled at LOS, gets up, in obvious pain holding his shoulder, and Lebby lets the clock tick to 13 seconds. Didnt burn one of his two TO’s. He could have run 5 more plays if he would have played his cards right. My 14 year old son, was going crazy saying “ why don’t they call a TO??” We just had to laugh and scratch our heads. Flipped over to the LSU/Aggy game after watching that. State being State. It’s is what it is.

Your team was pretty well decimated by all that's happened and unlike a lot of other programs you don't have big money NIL to bring in big talent for a quicker fix. It's an absolutely frustrating position you're in because State has taken so many teams to the wire this year. That's good coaching with less talent. But does Lebby have a kill shot in him? IDK. I would lean towards one more season, especially in this job market but at the same time I can understand the desire to fire him.

I don't know much about him, but msu has some dogs. Meanwhile, he just handed a mid tx team a win and new life. Didn't even have to work that hard at it.

depends on how the big money guys feel. Selmon (AD) will be told what to do. They are the ones that funded this team through NIL

And spent a good bit. And they’re seeing that we got the players to win and Lebby has screwed it up so that money was pissed away. We don’t have the big boosters to sink money like that year after year with no results.

We need to fire him this year. Boosters won’t put that money up next season after seeing this so Lebby is doomed regardless might as well end it now and try someone else.

He won’t be back next season unless he pulls a couple wins out of his arse. 0-8 in conference again he will 100% be gone and he should be

If we can’t find mental confidence up 3 possessions in the 4th quarter at home against a ranked team then it ain’t gonna fricking happen

I'm watching the replay now. He has strong Napier like deficiencies. His clock management at the end of the 4th quarter was horrendous. Two weeks in a row. MSU should have won these past 2 weeks.
