At Ms. St. Game, I know of the guy where the picture is, did he die or sick. Anyone know the story.

State is very much running on fumes as we get to the finish line. They’ll be in the tournament, probably in a 7/10 or 8/9 game, but I don’t know how you can watch this team and have any confidence they do anything. One win at most, and I’m not sure they can win 1. Would have to be a great matchup for them. They cannot shoot the 3 nor can they defend the 3. The whole offense is just “please save us Hubbard” and nobody else on this team scares you as a scorer. They do play hard and can force you into some turnovers… But if you beat the pressure, buddy you will have wide open 3’s against this team for days. I feel like half the league has made double digit 3’s against State. Bama made 22 of them in one game.
Yep, that’s been my take all year. May be if we lose the last game we can get out of the SEC bracket with Auburn.

Finally, balanced scoring as 5 were in double figures.

Possible, but not a sure thing, State could win one SEC game.
re: What is your team’s seed range?

State. Dropping game to game. Whether a 1 (just joking) or #16 they won’t be playing past two games.

Alabama too high Arkansas too high Auburn too high Florida too high Georgia too high Kentucky too high LSU too high Mississippi State too high Missouri too low Oklahoma too high Ole Miss too high South Carolina too high Tennessee too high Texas too high Texas A&M too high Vanderbilt too high
If every team but one is “too high”, then that means a few more have to be too low, pretty simple arithmetic.

Going to get to buffalo trace eventually. Want to hear what I have to say then?
That’s not much of an upgrade.

Whoever I root for makes no difference to nothing but my feeling.
Saban’s first year at Bama.

Lost six games…….
“ This is unfamiliar territory for the Crimson Tide. Alabama has not had more than three losses in a season in a while. However, just when was the last time Alabama lost at least four games in a year? You have to go all the way back to 2007, which was the first season of the Nick Saban era in Tuscaloosa”

Other than the few Prescott years we are rarely better than below average in the SEC with or without NIL. Don’t ever see it changing. I hate this NIL/portal crap with a passion and me giving money “again” to scholarship players other than a small supplement is never gonna happen. Many don’t want a university education, they all just want money and a shot at the NFL. The portal tells one that. Hard to blame the players as I do understand their motivation, but don’t expect me to reward it for a game, rather spend it on myself or family.
re: Would you believe half the teams in the CFP don't have a win against a ranked opponent.

But Texas did play and win against three teams that were ranked when the game was played. The three failed to stay in the top 25, so Texas helped them drop a bit.

There were several donations to NIL recently. One as large as $ 8 mil. We were getting left behind and I think it got a few folks off their wallet
Can hardly call myself a big contributor but did write a few checks at bonus time and every so often when I hit a good score with the stock market, but my wallet has closed. These demands of millions of dollars to play college football has finished me. I have no problems to helping these kids with more money along with their paid ride for college, but this has gone overboard. There are better ways to spend my excess funds.

re: Big changes are needed
Posted by clayking on 11/30/24 at 10:08 am
There’s a lot of changes needed, but they will get another year or two to see if they stick. Another season like this and I will become a fan of Ole Miss, as difficult as that will be…at least I have relatives that went there or going. Been a fan of state all my life, Dad, went there, I went and we just remain mediocre with the occasional decent season, second rate bowl games mostly. Hard pressed to continue to contribute to this nil stuff as it seems to be a waste of money.

re: I like what I see (spring game)

Still like it. Tempo is not fast, in fact slow, as the keep changing the play call. Not impressed at all.
re: If not for your team, what team would you choose to follow?

As difficult as it can be, perhaps ole miss, but only because my great great grandfather was a Ventress……..

Not so sure just yet. Seems a bit of a gambler in making calls on 4th and five on your side of the field, very poor odds. 4th and one in the zone, different story. He gets a few years to prove himself. Though I am somewhat disappointed in not going full bore with 2 minute drill full time as they seem to operate better with it.
