A 24 team playoff wouldn't be terrible...

So long as there is a second NIT style tournament for the next 24 so the Vols and Auburn get to play in the postseason too!

neither of these teams deserve anything other than a bowl game in the bahamas or something

I was thinking one of those bowls with a blue field and snow

If they keep expanding, we can just call it "the season" and be back to square one.

Bowl games should be played week 0 based on previous season results. Every team plays in one or just plays a home game against a random opponent if you stunk the previous season. The interest in bowl games would go up bigly and you would have some awesome matchups.

The NFL does not interest me nearly as much as college football. A sloppier version of it sure doesn’t excite me.

This is why they created the playoff to start with. UGA couldn't win in the BCS system

I'm for a 24 team playoff.
The tipping point for me is that any bowl games outside of the playoff are are a joke. The best players sit out, making them an exhibition game. Put it at 24, leave it alone, and we'll get a good amount of meaningful games like the bowl system used to provide.

I like this approach.
I don’t see why any football fan can rationally object to a large playoff.
We do it in high school, every other college level, and the NFL.
What it will do is take all the power away from pundits. They can no longer control who gets a few slots. If your team has a good year - you find out if you are good enough on the field.
Not on espn gameday.
