Eh, they had some decent teams in the 80s along with pulling two elite 8s out their arse in 02’ and 09’, but not much else to brag about.

This stat can't be right. Lowly LSU is sitting right next to almighty NCSU.

No you were told they own LSU in basketball and football

So LSU winning 6 of the last 8 against UT in football is getting owned? Weird doesn't seem like owning to me.

Congrats on all the wins in the 40s, 50s and 60s I guess......

They were a Power in the 1960s with Hall of Famers Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek and a guy named Bob Knight.

Problem is, so were Cincinnati, North Carolina and of course, UCLA.

So, they sort of get lost in the memory.

Ohio S had success in the NCAAT well before the 32 team field and when the NIT was still the more prestigious tournament -

Guess who is not on that list?

Yep...Tennessee made it to 3 straight Elite 8s without making the final 4. But that isn't a big deal. Plenty of SEC schools have made 3 straight (or more) Elite 8:

Kentucky - 5 straight - 95-99;
Florida - 4 straight - 11-14
Kentucky - 3 straight - 10-12; 56-58
Tennessee - 3 straight - 24-26

As for others who have made it in consecutive years:

Bama - 2 straight - 24-25
Arkansas - 2 straight - 78-79; 90-91; 21-22
Florida - 2 straight - 06-07
Kentucky - 2 straight - 48-49; 51-52; 61-62; 72-73; 77-78; 83-84; 92-93; 14-15
LSU - 2 straight - 80-81; 86-87
Oklahoma - 2 straight - 02-03

I remember Mizzou having a very good team in 1994 and lost in the Elite 8.

Mizzou never lost a final four basketball game, never lost a BCS or college football playoff game. Congratulations to our SEC brother
