Based on what? LSU struggling to put them away? Their grueling Big 12 schedule? A combination of both?
Add in the regular bout of cupcakes and Missouri finishes with a 7-5 record in 2020 - exactly identical to Texas's regular season record from last year. The only thing different between those two teams is name recognition.
Let's end this debate once and for all: I'm not going to convince you of anything and you're not going to convince me of anything. As it's been scientifically proven that LSU fans have the lowest football IQ of any fan base in college football, however, your opinion doesn't count for jack shite.
You had an argument for GOAT team for a year. It's just too bad that Alabama came back the very next year with a slightly better one.

And quite a bit of a talent difference.
2019 Texas was pretty good, just suffered a lot of injuries down the stretch.

That doesn't mean jack shite if you ain't got the coaching to exploit the talent differential. That's the main reason Tom Herman is out of a job.

Still a pretty good team in 2019 until the injury bug bit them

Unless you have the ability to view alternate realities, you have absolutely no way of knowing this.

I made a post breaking down the two teams, a detailed one, and none of you had the balls to dispute it.
They were pretty well even or close everywhere except ONE area, and Bama 2020 was head and shoulders better that LSU at this position. Offensive Line and there's no disputing it. LSU was good, Bama was the GOAT ever at Alabama.
As I said, you could get to Joe Burrow. The Bama 2019 D did, 5 times, and knocked him around some more. Alabama 2020 was better up front on D.
It was extremely hard to get to Mac Jones, and he was good at moving around in the pocket making it even harder. With the time he had, and those receivers, that would be the difference. Not to mention that line would also open huge holes for Najee Harris.

I'm just saying I'd bet on the 2019 Texas team that played LSU 10/10 times over the 2020 Mizzou team that Bama played.

2020 Alabama played LSU in 2019 plus several more NFL players and Waddle

Mac Jones was sacked 13 times in 13 games, whereas Joe Burrow was sacked 34 times in 15 games.

I see Ole Miss, but no LSU?

You're dealing in subjective, alternative history. You have that right but it won't do you any good in this debate. I can only assume you're feebly attempting to divert the discussion.

All of this also applies to you
Every last bit of it is subjective.

Still not the same teams and you know it. The Alabama secondary in 2020 late season was quite a bit better. The whole defense was. A year older.
They actually had a kicker for a change. The OLine in 2019 was very good but not as good as 2020. Tua was not healthy, Mac Jones was.
Najee Harris had become a great complete back, better than 2019. With a healthy Waddle, the receivers likely were as effective.
More NFL players? I don't think so. 3 OL, 2 WR's 1QB, 1RB, 1 DL and 1 DB all will get drafted and pretty high.

Your sacks argument is kind of odd since Joe was sacked 5:1 compared to Tua and still won the game.

The 2019 D got him 5 times. 2020 might get him 7 or 8.You ain't winning like that, especially if you can't touch Mac.

Maybe, maybe not.
2020 Alabama only jumped .4 sacks per game from 2019 despite teams throwing the ball around 5 times more per game vs Alabama in 2020 vs 2019.

By late in the year Christian Barmore had developed into a possible first round interior defensive lineman. He made himself some money in the playoffs. Chris Allen and Will Anderson were both outstanding pass rushing OLB's.Patrick Surtain might have been the best corner in the country, a top 5 pick and the rest had a year under their belts. By the season's end the 2020 Alabama defense was light years better than what Burrow faced in 2019.
One more stop. They would get it.

By the end of 2019, LSU was light years better than it had been when it played Alabama, especially on defense.
Anyone can compare hypotheticals.

We know where LSU was at the end of the year. We know where Bama was too.
No way to prove anything, but there's little doubt the difference in the 2 is OL. That's how you take over a game late.
