Tennessee seems due to win one. Like Auburn in 2017 over Georgia. Could see UGA going 3-0 against the ole Miss/texas/bama gauntlet the media won’t shut up about and having Tennesee somehow sneak an unsuspecting win in there

I’d much rather have “haha you didn’t 3peat” jokes than haha no titles since 1980 jokes.

Many of them we spotted a cheap early touchdown to boot

Someone would have to be a complete inbred cousin fricker to make the comparison. Give Bama credit for being more clutch, but Georgia was up tby 14 points in the second half in both of the 2018 games we played. Saban had to pull a rabbit out of his butt both times and change quarterbacks. Good for him. Then time went on and Saban eventually coached in his last national championship game, where the other team was more physical and it turned into a 4th quarter shite kicking, because football is still a phsyical sport and the more physical team deserves to win the game.

Same thing that happened when Bama tries to 3 Pete.

Um....so you are saying he does not matter anymore? Ask Alabama how the change from Saban was. Usc from Pete Caroll, Florida from Urban Meyer, etc. Sports have ups and down, Homerism at it's best. You are not the New York Yankees.
Do you even reading comprehension bro? As long as Kirby doesn't leave, UGA will continue to dominate the Vols. There will be no ebbs and flows. Perhaps a blip from time to time. Sorry if you disagree with that fact.

Jameson Williams played more snaps in that game than George Pickens. Pickens was basically a decoy.
A team doesn't deserve to win a national title game if it can't run the ball. It's football, and football is still a physical sport.
••• Georgia running backs without Pickens – 21 carries for 167 yards (8 yard per carry and did so with its best run blocking lineman out injured)
••• Alabama running backs without Williamson – 24 carries for 73 yards (3 yards per carry)
...Bama tried to win by playing new-age pussy ball and lost.

Williams couldn't play more snaps. Pickens played fewer snaps in the NC game than the SECCG over a month earlier so he could have played much more if he had wanted.

The pussy ball blew you guys out in the first game when Bama wasn't missing as many players and the teams were more evenly matched. The stories the next day were as much about Bama's rash of terrible injury luck as much as Georgia's winning.

2022 set that program back a decade. Maybe 2.

We can re-litigate that national championship game as long as you want, because it was awesome. Pickens tweaked his knee in practice after that. He played 11 snaps.

Bama fans told us that it was all about national championships, until that narrative didn't work anymore and all of a sudden it wasn't.

It depends on which media you were consuming, I guess. Stetson Bennett's drunken Good Morning America interview got more play nationally than Bama beat writer bullshite excuses.

The 27-13 game should be reversed. Tenner came in #1 amidst their 6 day dynasty.

Odd that it was never mentioned and Georgia media said he needed to make a statement in the title game.

It is about NCs. That's what we're discussing.
Those were ESPN, CBS. Cowherd/Klatt, etc.

Been mentioned a thousand times already but Georgias defense played one way for 14 games that season, and another way in one game which was the SEC championship. It was an absolute and total coaching retardation failure by the entire staff but hey, it is what it is. Nobody wants to recognize that though. If we played our normal defense that game the same way that we did in the title game bama is nowhere to be seen and we probably have a TCU repeat against whoever we'd face that year.

Georgia had a perfect regular season record. Lost in the championship game. Doesn’t seem fair that ND,if undefeated and not required to go thru a championship game, would have walked into the playoffs. I have never understood why the rules are different for ND. And no one ever asks why. The conferences should be demanding that they join a conference and play by the same rules as the rest of us or forget about the playoff and natty

Without Metchie and Williams I'm sure Georgia did play a different defense.

Technically I was in a coma after my motorcycle accident. 25 years though? Uhm...before Kirby they were above average....not winning titles.

Alabama fans should be careful with all of the "what if" shite in national championship games.
4th down. 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Georgia up 7. What if Najee Harris doesn't get a Canadian Football League head start that the side judge magically doesn't see?
------------------------------------------
What if Tyler Simmons isn't called off sides on the punt block when Georgia had Bama on the ropes in the third quarter. It was such a shite call that even the ref who called it felt bad later.
Referee Dan Capron has had a long career in the Big Ten, but he was also embroiled in one of the most-important moments in recent SEC history.
He was the head official for the Georgia-Alabama national championship game following the 2017 season, and he had some interesting comments about that game in an interview he recently did with the Chicago Tribune.
The most interesting comment, without a doubt, was him admitting that Tyler Simmons wasn’t offside on a key punt block during the game:
We had a miss. Alabama was on the ropes. They were deep in their own territory and they’re punting. The punt gets blocked. There’s a flag on the ground because the line judge had Georgia offside. Oh, boy. He (the player, Tyler Simmons) actually had a running start and timed it (properly). He wasn’t offside.
But that wasn’t my call. The blocking backs, a split-second before the snap, moved. That was a false start. That should have been my call. It still wouldn’t have been a blocked punt but instead a five-yard penalty against the offense. You never want to make a mistake of any kind in such a high-profile atmosphere.

Before Kirby the Dawgs were averaging 10 wins a year and going to a bowl every year . They had top quality recruiting then too
