This was the NFL though, you don't get ahead by paying players or handing out Chargers

Farmer, interesting picture you posted. What fricking coach had FSU at 5-6? Thats awful. Was that Bowden towards the end?

Texas A&M vs Auburn 2017, 4 minutes to kickoff (per the DMN)

Jimbo couldn't be bothered. He was in negotiations with A&M. He said it wouldn't look good to leave for only 7.5 M a year when he's winning 10+ a year so he took time off, found a house in CS, etc let things slip so he could leave cheaply. A&M didn't want to give him 10 year 100 M.

He was being replaced by Clemson as the ACC superpower part of the negotiations too?

It was an 11am kick, Sumlin was a dead man walking, and we were trying to finish our tailgating up.

It ended up being decent enough crowd and we lost like everyone expected.

So exactly the same situation (except against a Top 20 conference opponent) as FSU playing a Sun Belt team in a literal add on game after the head coach had already left in a 5-6 disaster season at 12 PM on the same day as all the Conference Title games.

I wonder how he compares to other coaches at that age. Let's take a quick look at say... IDK... Jimbo Fisher.

How would they compare to a 52 year old Phil Fulmer?

He would have turned 52, just before the start of the 2002 season.

By then he had:
1 National Championship
2 SEC Championships
3 SEC East Championships
1 undefeated (13-win) season
6 10-win seasons
4 11-win seasons

Jimbo's accomplishments are pretty close to Fulmer's at that age. At his current pace, he has seen his last conference championship and will be fired in 7 seasons.

Saban upgrading by moving from LSU to Alabama

Actually Saban upgraded from LSU to Miami. Then he down graded from Miami to Alabama.

Now the rumor was he wanted back to LSU. I don't believe that but who knows.

Fulmer was a year removed from 10 wins and a top 12 finish. Yall were the dumbasses that let him go and hired this cast of characters.

And if you factor in the games Bama got caught cheating in than 2007 would be the most recent one.

So year one at a rebuild compared to Jimbo's most recent one, which came in year 8. Interesting

Rebuild? They were a year removed from a top 10 finish.

Just like Florida State this year. Jimbo is in rare air with Mike Shula, going from a 10 win team to not even making it to a bowl game

I enjoy how obsessed you are with FSU's last season. I think this is your 10th post about it in this thread alone.

4th actually.

Just pointing out a hole in your comparison. I couldn't recall Saban having a losing season at any point in his tenure, especially year 8

The SpringFarmer is trying WAY too hard to convince himself they didn't pay above sticker price for a used car.
