WTH - a rationale, sensible post. I had to leave the RANT for a couple of weeks as some of you are drinking waaaaay too much Kool Aid. This is another epic matchup in the history of College football. I can't wait for Jan 9th. Geaux Tigers!

Instead of Gumps v Corndogs engaging in an endless dick measuring contest, can't we just appreciate two of the finest programs in college football history.
I for one appreciate that CNS has restored Alabama football to its rightful place. Truth is, CNS also restored LSU football to its rightful place, and CLM has not only kept it there but has taken it to further heights.
These teams are playing for their fourth crystal football in the last nine years. These fine coaches have brought each program to the pinnacle of college football. Let both teams relish this moment, and may the best team win on Jan 9th. Roll Tide! Geaux Tigers!

Good post. I agree, it's like Bo vs Woody, with Miles serving as LSU's Bo to Saban being Bama's little Woody. (I couldn't resist a little dick measuring there.)

That may be, but prior to Saban taking over at LSU, LSU had a winning record vs Auburn and more SEC titles and bowl wins. So if LSU had "nothing" to restore, Auburn was less than nothing.

That's dandy and all but LSU only has 3 official National Championships.

Classic, a Gump talking about "official" titles.

You can't possibly be a 'Bama fan. Way too rational.

They're always like this, grovel before the game, and then if they should win, watch out, it'll be the usual arrogant lord of the manner bullshite.

...should they not win, it'll be one excuse after another.

But be forewarned, they never lose, sometimes they just don't win.

It's really kind of sad.

I really don't see why so many LSU fans don't understand this. This is in no way disrespectful to Les Miles because Miles has done a fantastic job with this program. But Saban changed the mentality and attitude of the LSU fanbase. Cracking the top 25 used to be a big accomplishment for LSU, now being ranked under 10 is a disappointment.

Pretty obvious that LSU has been better overall.

Les Miles has gained the respect of all intelligent Bama fans and most of our stupid ones. Anyone that can beat CNS's best team ever at home deserves it. And he has always played Bama well. I still think we will have a convincing win Jan9 but it will not change my respect and admiration of LSU FB.

Solid post. I like to engage in the BS from time to time, but it's all in fun. You are so right- both fans bases are living the good life, and should enjoy it!

2009 14-0 NC
2008 12-2

So same number of wins, same number of losses, and one more NC? And three wins in a row vs Alabama? I'll take it!
