Law: Marijuana use is illegal without prescription in a florida.

Simple as that. You are a star recruit. Going to a premier program. Dont be an idiot and get busted for pot on in a different state. You may not like the law but it is a law. Just know that when you decide to break it.

"Cocaine?"

"No, marijuana."

"Why are we here?"

IIRC, that over 20 grams felony will also contain an "intent to distribute" charge as well.

Law: Black people can’t vote. Simple as that. Don’t break the law.

Like saying slaves who tried to escape were at fault, not the oppressive laws that made it "illegal".

Comparing mind altering drugs to slavery makes a lot of sense.

Marijuana is the least of his worries. The pills is his problem. Or do we just over look those.

Wrong. Doctors cannot prescribe a schedule 1 narcotic. It is merely a recommendation the state then certifies.

He should have stuck with half oz's. Then it would have just been a ticket.

They'll take you to jail for misdemeanor possession in Florida. Then in court they'll take your drivers license, even it the offense had 0 to do with an automobile

It's comparing laws. If you can't understand it, then it's a you problem.

Not all laws are equal. You can't see how bad your analogy was? I hope you aren't an attorney.

Pretty sure it's anything over an oz now in Florida so that charge won't happen.

Just because people are becoming more lawless with every passing day doesn't mean we should all subscribe to lawlessness.

In Florida, over 20 grams is a felony. It's the only state in America less than an ounce is a felony. He might be in some trouble. Which is fricking stupid.

Maybe was an additional charge because Marijuana is technically a controlled substance in Florida.

It depends. I got caught with over 20 in Florida (26-27 grams) about 20 years ago. It's a felony, but they didn't get me with intent to distribute. But I was also an upper middle class white kid. So that probably helped. It may depend on how they packaged it. Multiple bags, they may try to hit him with intent.

I've told my son who lives in Florida that if he wants to smoke, he needs to do it in private and it would be better if he moved elsewhere. The Marijuana laws are dumb, but they are still the law. Kind of like you cannot drink until 21 but everyone does it
