That’s pretty impressive it was released on Tuesday and the plane crashed on Friday. I’ve got that album too. I bought it 20 minutes after hearing the news on the radio, the record company had them pull the album from store shelves the very next day because of the flames on the cover. What a sad day in rock history. That was a hell of a band.

In 300 years your family has not figured it out yet.

If you don't understand the love for Elvis and why people still love him today I can't explain it to you.
Every single day women cry at his grave on their hands and knees. Every single day flowers are placed at his grave by fans. Every single day roughly 2000 pay to visit his house. Roughly $50,000 in sales involving the King happens every day.

Best music ever written was done so long before I was born.

It truly was a great time to be alive. Thanks for the video, but not so much for reminding me that all those lovely girls are now grannies......haha

It’s a silly movie, but the scene when Joe Dirt runs into the band in Joe Dirt 2 and they mention having a plane, it hits you a little the first time you see it.

My family has lived in the SE Louisiana for nearly 300 years. Now, tell me what a true southerner is?
My mother's family has been in the South for 400 years now (1625). Daddy's almost as long.
Come back in another century and maybe we'll let be a true Southerner.

The live album at Knebworrh opening for the Stones is hands down top 10 live performances of all time.
Mick Jagger told the boys from Skynyrd to stay off the tongue logo during their performance,
Naturally, Ronnie Van Zant went straight to the tongue and was all over it. Jagger was furious, but was scared to confront Ronnie. At heart Van Zant was a good ol' boy redneck, and probably would have bitch slapped Jagger.

Like Alabama just bitch slapped the 1998's?

I think you mean Steve Gaines.
Steve Gaines was the most talented member of the group.
Ronnie Van Zant used to say, "one day we will all be playing in his shadow."

I don't want to argue about it, I'm just pointing it out. In Texas nobody even talks about Elvis.
In the same thread that we mention the soul-wrenching depth of a song like Tuesday's Gone - we also speak of the moving message and musical genius of "you ain't nothing but a hound dog"

Sweet Home Alabama is a song that never gets old and everyone loves.
I'm from the land of skynyrd, grew to hate hearing it all the damn time... especially at school. About the time that was finally waning, kid rock gave me a new reason to not like it
