In all honesty if that runner takes the outside lane there in the base paths still gets levelled probably but is safe since she was in the path and softball season might still be going.

Sorry if this has already been stated, but you know that CNS will use this game with his players aa an example of how to and how not to handle adversity.

Hard to believe $atan even knows Bama has a softball team.

No kidding. Excuses are meant for after the game. She started making them during the game, and her players followed suit.

To think, for 3 days LSU had Patrick Murphy and Allison Habetz.

What could have been.

But he decided to stay at Bama where he knew he could win.

Yep, that was a text book case on how to handle adversity. Like someone said a page or two back, if you give your team a reason to slack off, they will.

We should make all our coaches get named the head coach at LSU. It's like the prime post-doc school for coaches.

Arkansas? I thought all theirs was mens track (indoor and outdoor)...plus a hoops title. I wonder what the 4th was? Any Arkansas fans about?

The man is completely focused on doing his job and doing it better than anyone else. If you aren't in his bubble you might as well not exist......witnessed this first hand in the LSU athletic administration building. I can tell you at LSU at least softball wasn't close to his bubble.

Don't know if Hunter covered this in the brouhaha of the site change...

quote:

"I watched it last night," Saban said of Alabama's 8-6 victory. The Tide held on after giving up five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. "It made me nervous in the bottom of the seventh," Saban said before teeing off in the Regions Tradition Celebrity Pro-Am at Shoal Creek. "When you're an old baseball player, you're been in a few of those games, so you hang on a little bit, but I was happy for them and wish them luck tonight." Alabama already has won a school-record three national championships in the 2011-12 academic year. The gymnastics team and women's golf team also reached the top in their sports. Saban was asked if he takes pride in the success of Alabama's other athletic programs. "Absolutely," he said. "We try to contribute every way we can to the total program at the University of Alabama. I have been involved in trying to help them recruit, and I think the exposure they get certainly helps us be successful, and hopefully the exposure that we get helps them. In this day and age of media, press and ESPN, all of that's very important to being successful."

I doubt he watches every minute of the game but he keeps up to date on Bama teams that are competing for a championship. He'll hear about how things played out in this game and he'll use it to relate a message to his own team.
